What is a remote aftermarket automotive job?

Remote Aftermarket Automotive jobs involve working with automotive parts and services that are not supplied by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). These roles may include sales, customer support, technical advising, or marketing for aftermarket parts and accessories, all performed remotely. People in these positions often help customers, shops, or distributors find the right parts, troubleshoot issues, or provide product information online or over the phone. Remote work in this field allows professionals to connect with clients and manage orders from anywhere, leveraging technology to support the automotive aftermarket industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote aftermarket automotive specialist?

A Remote Aftermarket Automotive Specialist should have a solid understanding of automotive parts, vehicle systems, and aftermarket products, often supported by experience in automotive sales or technical training. Familiarity with inventory management software, CRM platforms, and online parts catalogs is typically required. Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills help build trust and resolve issues efficiently with clients remotely. These abilities are crucial for ensuring accurate recommendations, customer satisfaction, and effective remote operations in a competitive automotive market.

How does working remotely in an aftermarket automotive role impact collaboration with parts suppliers and customers?

In a remote aftermarket automotive position, effective digital communication is essential for collaborating with parts suppliers, customers, and internal teams. You’ll often use email, video calls, and specialized inventory or CRM systems to coordinate orders, resolve issues, and provide technical support. While you may not interact face-to-face, strong organizational skills and proactive follow-up are key to maintaining smooth workflows and customer satisfaction. Regular virtual meetings and shared project management tools help keep everyone aligned and ensure timely resolution of concerns.

  • Make independent decisions regarding proper product application, ensuring both technical accuracy and alignment with customer needs.
  • Maintain an extensive working knowledge of aftermarket automotive technology as it pertains to building, tuning, and maintaining Race Cars, Hot Rods, and Muscle Cars.
  • Serve as a technical resource for both customers and internal teams, including sales and customer support staff.
  • Assist our product and e-commerce teams to develop and update website content.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support product visibility, customer engagement, and overall sales success.
  • Contribute toward the development of training material for fellow techs and sales staff members.
  • Participate in the production of technical content including video, tech articles, instruction sheets, and product reviews.
  • Attend industry trade shows and events acting as an ambassador for Speedway Motors.
  • Embrace and live out Speedway Motors core values.
  • Constantly work to improve processes; make suggestions for productivity improvements, and optimize employee workflow, while continuing to meet our customers’ needs.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through on commitments.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic work setting.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
