Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of clients, establishing rapport and fostering positive therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries and ethics.
• Conduct regular sessions to review client progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and prepare for discharge when goals are met.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized, client-centered treatment plans that align with best practices in mental health care.
• Ensure thorough documentation of client interactions and progress notes using established electronic health record systems.
• Perform comprehensive intake assessments to facilitate appropriate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Engage in weekly individual therapy sessions with clients, employing evidence-based techniques to address various mental health issues.
• Participate in individual supervision to discuss cases, receive feedback, and enhance professional development.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to client health and wellness.
• Maintain a growth mindset, participating in training and development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on a diverse outpatient population of adults, children, and families, addressing a wide range of mental health issues. This includes anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related conditions, and more. By providing tailored therapeutic interventions, you will help clients navigate their mental health challenges and support their paths to recovery and well-being.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in mental health counseling or a related field.
• Current and unrestricted license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia.
• At least one year of clinical experience in an outpatient setting post-graduation, with a focus on individual and family therapy.
• Proficiency in using computer systems, including electronic health records, Excel, and communication platforms such as Outlook.

Preferred Experience

• Experience conducting intake assessments and providing direct psychotherapy services.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining independence in your practice.

Compensation and Benefits

• At Advocate Mind Health, the annual salary for the Licensed Professional Counselor position ranges from USD 75,000 to 90,000.
