Remote Ad Operations information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Ad Operations Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Ad Operations Specialist, you need a solid understanding of digital advertising, campaign management, and data analysis, often supported by a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with ad servers (such as Google Ad Manager), programmatic platforms, analytics tools, and industry certifications like the IAB Digital Media Certification is typically required. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for managing remote workflows and collaborating with clients and teams. These competencies are essential for ensuring campaigns run smoothly, optimizing performance, and achieving client goals in a fast-paced digital environment.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in remote Ad Operations roles, and how can they be managed effectively?

Professionals in remote Ad Operations often encounter challenges such as coordinating with cross-functional teams across different time zones, maintaining clear communication with clients, and ensuring accurate campaign implementation without in-person oversight. To manage these effectively, it's essential to leverage project management and communication tools, establish regular check-ins, and document processes thoroughly. Proactively addressing potential miscommunications and setting clear expectations with stakeholders can help ensure campaigns run smoothly and deadlines are met.

What are Remote Ad Operations?

Remote Ad Operations refers to managing and optimizing digital advertising campaigns from a remote location, rather than working onsite at an office. Professionals in this role are responsible for implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting online ads across various platforms, ensuring campaigns run smoothly and meet clients' objectives. They work closely with sales, marketing, and technical teams to maximize the effectiveness of advertising efforts, using tools like ad servers, analytics platforms, and reporting dashboards. This role typically requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with digital advertising technologies.

Young Americans for Liberty

Job description

About Young Americans For Liberty
Founded after the 2008 Ron Paul Presidential Campaign, Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) is the nation's largest pro-liberty youth movement, building a powerful network of activists to transform states into beacons of freedom.
We drive real change in America by working through our "Build - Elect - Pass" model:
  1. Build: We are building the largest nationwide movement of committed youth activists on American college campuses, with pro-liberty students fighting on hundreds of campuses across the country.
  2. Elect: We mobilize our base of committed youth activists to be the grassroots muscle on campaigns of principled liberty legislators through Operation Win at the Door. Since 2018, we've built a coalition of 400 active legislators in our National Liberty Legislator Coalition, and thousands of YAL-recruited students have knocked on over 6 million doors to turn out the vote.
  3. Pass: We train this coalition of principled liberty legislators to pass transformative policy at the state level. This coalition has already passed over 1,250 pro-liberty bills spanning from Universal School Choice, to Constitutional Carry, to major tax cuts and so much more. You can view the full list of bills passed at yaliberty.org/liberty-bills.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to identify, educate, train, and mobilize youth activists committed to the ideals of liberty and the Constitution. Our vision is to create Liberty Lighthouse States that will Transform Our States into Beacons of Liberty. YAL also works to achieve this vision by electing liberty legislators and passing liberty legislation.
Our Values & Culture
YAL's culture is built on 5 foundational values:
  1. Goal Setting: We orient our work towards specific goals that align with achieving our long-term vision.
  2. Trust the Truth: We pursue the truth and are honest in all we do, even when it's difficult. There should never be a situation where lying is the right answer if we're truthful from the beginning.
  3. Grassroots Mobilization: We win on principle by generating grassroots pressure on the politicians. Unless you are politically feared, you will not be politically respected. Education alone is not enough.
  4. Principle: We believe in liberty - which provides the freedom to choose and requires taking responsibility for your choices - and individual rights - which must be respected at all times.
  5. Power of the Individual: We recognize everyone has an innate ability to make a difference. Therefore, we are dedicated to aligning your goals and developing your strengths so you can unlock your full potential.

Candidates who will fit in with YAL's culture tend to be principled, entrepreneurial, passionate, and comfortable with ambitious goals and a fast-paced work environment.
If you like solving problems and getting things done, this role will give you reps.
Young Americans for Liberty is looking for a Technology & Operations Intern to support the systems and processes that keep the organization running.
This is not a narrow internship. You will work across technology and operations, helping execute the day-to-day work that allows teams to move faster and focus on higher-impact priorities.
If you are comfortable jumping into different types of work, learning quickly, and taking ownership of tasks, this role will give you exposure to how a real operations and tech function runs.
About the role
The Technology & Operations Intern supports YAL's Technology Operations and broader Operations teams by handling a wide range of technical and operational tasks.
This role is intentionally broad. In a given week, you may work on spreadsheet cleanup, support triage, documentation, research, vendor follow-ups, event preparation, or small system updates. The value of this role is flexibility and execution.
You will work from an evolving task queue rather than a fixed set of responsibilities, supporting whatever work needs to get done. This role is designed to reduce day-to-day execution load so full-time staff can focus on higher-level system and operational priorities.
You will report to YAL's IT Generalist and work directly with members of the Operations team.
Location: Austin, TX preferred (remote considered for exceptional candidates)
Hours: 15-25 hours per week preferred
Term: Semester or summer (flexible; one academic term standard)
This is an unpaid volunteer internship. A $2,500 scholarship will be awarded at the end of the internship. Academic credit is supported where applicable.
What you'll do

Work from a flexible task queue

  • Contribute to small improvements that make systems easier to use

Learn how operations and tech functions work
  • Participate in weekly check-ins and receive feedback
  • Gain exposure to internal tools, systems, and workflows
  • Build familiarity with operational and technical best practices

What Success Looks Like
  • Tasks are completed accurately and consistently
  • Operational work no longer bottlenecks Tech Ops or Operations teams
  • Systems and data remain organized and reliable
  • You demonstrate ownership, follow-through, and strong communication
  • You leave with tangible, portfolio-worthy experience

Qualifications

  • Ability to manage a flexible workload and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions
  • Self-starter mindset with a focus on execution
  • Professional and discreet when handling internal information
  • Strongly aligned with Young Americans for Liberty's mission and principles.

Nice to have:
  • Basic scripting experience (Apps Script, JavaScript, or Python)
  • Exposure to CRM systems or admin tools

What you'll gain
  • Hands-on experience supporting real technology and operations systems
  • Exposure to how a national organization runs internal processes
  • Experience working across multiple operational functions
  • Mentorship and feedback from YAL's Technology Operations team
  • Portfolio-worthy work you can use in future roles
  • A $2,500 scholarship will be awarded at the end of the internship. Academic credit is supported where applicable
Academic Credit (If Applicable)
This internship may qualify for academic credit through your college or university. YAL will work with your institution to complete the required documentation and verification. Interns are responsible for coordinating requirements and submitting materials on time.
