Remote 50 Hour information

What is a remote 50 hour?

A Remote 50 Hour job refers to a position where an employee works remotely, typically from home or another location outside the main office, for a total of 50 hours per week. These jobs allow flexibility in work location but require a significant time commitment, often more than the standard 40-hour workweek. Remote 50 Hour jobs can be found in various industries such as IT, customer service, and project management. Employers may expect extended availability and strong time management skills from candidates in these roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote worker?

To thrive as a remote worker, you need strong self-management, time management, and communication skills, often supported by relevant experience in your field. Familiarity with collaboration tools like Slack, Zoom, and project management systems such as Asana or Trello is typically required. Initiative, adaptability, and proactive communication set top performers apart in remote environments. These skills ensure productivity, accountability, and seamless teamwork despite physical distance.

What are some common challenges faced when working in a remote 50-hour per week role, and how can they be managed?

Working remotely for 50 hours a week can present unique challenges, such as maintaining work-life balance, managing time effectively, and avoiding burnout. Since communication with colleagues and supervisors is primarily virtual, it's essential to proactively schedule check-ins and clarify expectations. Establishing a dedicated workspace, setting clear boundaries with household members, and taking regular breaks can help sustain productivity and well-being. Utilizing project management and collaboration tools also ensures that tasks are organized and team interactions remain seamless.

Job description

Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting & Consolidations– Contract
  • $40–$50/hour | 3+ Month Contract | Potential Extension
  • Remote – must be based out of CST or EST
  • Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (CST)
  • Start ASAP
We are seeking a hands-on Accounting & Finance professional to support a 3+ month project with potential for extension. This role is ideal for an experienced accountant who enjoys being in the trenches and doing the work, rather than simply reviewing completed work.
The company is currently operating in Microsoft Dynamics and preparing to migrate to NetSuite, so experience with ERP transitions or manual/Excel-heavy accounting environments is a plus.
What You'll Do
Month-End Close & Consolidations
  • Assist with month-end close activities.
  • Support financial consolidations across multiple entities.
  • Help set up and maintain an Excel-based consolidation file.
  • Work with U.S. and international teams across multiple time zones.
Reconciliations & Accounting
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
  • Perform financial cross-checks and investigate discrepancies.
  • Validate balances and financial outputs prior to review.
  • Support day-to-day accounting activities as needed.
Audit & Compliance Support
  • Respond to audit requests and gather supporting documentation.
  • Prepare compliance and financial reporting packages.
  • Assist with documentation and support ahead of key reporting deadlines.
Tax Support
  • Respond to requests from tax professionals.
  • Pull trial balances and financial data for individual legal entities.
  • Gather financial information needed to support state and federal tax filings.
  • You will not be responsible for preparing the actual tax returns.
Systems & Process Support
  • Work within Excel-heavy accounting processes.
  • Document current procedures and workflows.
  • Help identify dependencies related to reports and legacy processes.
  • Support the team through ongoing system and process changes.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong accounting/finance background with hands-on experience.
  • Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and consolidations.
  • Experience supporting audits and/or tax requests.
  • Comfortable working with financial data for multiple entities.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to work with manual processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with U.S. and overseas teams.
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones.
  • Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • ERP experience preferred; Microsoft Dynamics and/or NetSuite experience is a plus.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who is a hands-on doer—someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, preparing the work, researching issues, and figuring things out in a smaller-company environment.
You should be comfortable with:
  • Working independently and taking ownership.
  • Ambiguous or evolving processes.
  • Learning operational processes quickly.
  • Working directly with financial data rather than simply reviewing someone else's work.
  • Communicating effectively with both U.S. and international teams.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • $40–$50/hour, depending on experience
  • 3+ month contract with potential for extension
  • Opportunity to work on consolidations, close, reconciliations, audit, and tax support
  • Exposure to a Dynamics-to-NetSuite system transition
  • Hands-on experience in a multi-entity environment
  • Immediate need and opportunity to make an impact quickly
Interested? Apply today! We are looking to move quickly with qualified candidates who have strong hands-on accounting experience.
