Senior DoD Staff Writing Specialist – Remote | $40–$90/hr

Fully Remote | U.S. Only | Contract | $40–$90/hour

We are seeking experienced DoD / Military Staff Writing Specialists to support an AI-related project focused on improving next-generation AI systems.

Use your real-world experience creating DoD reports, military documentation, executive summaries, and operational updates to help develop and evaluate high-quality AI outputs.

What You'll Do

  • Create realistic WARs, SITREPs, executive summaries, and performance reports
  • Develop prompts, source materials, and high-quality reference responses
  • Create grading guidelines to evaluate AI-generated DoD content
  • Review AI outputs for accuracy, tone, structure, and compliance
  • Develop authentic DoD-style reporting materials
  • Provide feedback to improve prompts, responses, and evaluation criteria

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant DoD/federal experience
  • Experience with DoD or military staff writing
  • Strong knowledge of WARs, SITREPs, executive summaries, and similar reporting formats
  • Experience writing, reviewing, or editing official military/federal documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication
  • Background in one of the U.S. military branches is preferred
  • Prior AI experience is not required
