Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The position of Project Consultant (PC) will be responsible for engaging, assessing, and procuring new clients through self-promotion and/or generation of leads. The PC position will meet prospective clients at their home to discuss design options, cost ranges, timeframes, and the Lars design-build process. They will provide the highest level of customer service through weekly updates to our clients throughout the design-build process. The PC is the direct conduit between the homeowner and the Lars team and is eligible for incentive bonuses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales (70%)
  • Must be able to sell 2.5 million dollars annually (initial year), 3 million (thereafter);
  • Effectively convert at least 20% of design consultations into design agreements;
  • Effectively convert at least 80% of design agreements into contracts;
  • Cultivate and self-generate leads and sales for Lars Remodeling & Design;
  • Provide in-home consultations with prospective clients to obtain a design agreement;
  • Establish rapport and obtain customer appointments in-home and at Lars Remodeling & Design for various meetings and reviews;
  • Discuss and provide accurate time frames relating to design, permitting, and building of projects;
  • Discuss and provide accurate cost ranges directly relating to the client's project(s);
  • Educate potential clients on the design services provided by Lars Remodeling & Design;
  • Educate potential clients on all company-sponsored finance options available;
  • Communicate effectively to ensure a clear understanding of individual client's goals, expectations, design possibilities, and costs;
  • Communicate to your team the ideas, goals, budget and time-frame of new design clients;
  • Properly document existing home building and finishes;
  • Manage the design team throughout the design and estimating process;
  • Review designs, estimate, and scope of work to effectively communicate to the team and our clients in the design review process;
  • Update, document, and provide any/all changes resulting from conversations, within 48 hours;
  • Review design with the homeowner for the team to properly update plans, pricing, and scope of work;
  • Properly document and contract clients using Lars Home Improvement Agreement
    • Accurately define realistic start date and completion date;
    • Provide and explain detailed payment schedule;
    • Provide and explain lead and asbestos documentation;
    • Provide and explain notice of cancellation;
  • Clearly explain provided detailed scope of work outlining the work to be performed with client and obtain approval;
  • Maintain relationship and communication throughout the production of the project;
  • Participate in field measures at the client's home working alongside the Lars Remodeling & Design team;
  • Walk with trades and vendors during or after the design phase to get accurate quotes and costs;
  • Engage with trades and vendors to network and grow a referral base;
  • Upgrade knowledge on current design and color trends to create fashionable design solutions; and
  • Participate at home shows as needed.

Administration (30%)
  • Manage, document, and follow up with all potential clients by calling, in-person communication and email through Builder Trend (BT);
  • Contribute in development and on-going upkeep of team's design portfolio.
  • Assist in identifying inefficiencies or areas of improvement and create documentation and processes;
  • Attend Educate Before You Renovate workshops with the ability to perform presentations while being knowledgeable on all topics discussed;
  • Report updates to the Director of Sales (DOS) on a regular basis at weekly sales meetings; and
  • Maintain involvement as required in all company-sponsored marketing and training programs.
