ELM Construction LLC is a residential design-build remodeling company serving the Birmingham metro area, including Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Mountain Brook, Hoover, and surrounding communities. Since 2008, ELM has focused on creating thoughtful, high-quality remodel experiences through strong design, clear communication, and excellent craftsmanship.

We are looking for a Construction Project Manager who can help lead residential remodeling projects from the estimating phase through completion. The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for estimating residential remodeling projects, helping plan the work, managing schedules, coordinating subcontractors and materials, communicating with clients, and ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and in alignment with ELM's standards. In this role, you will be one of the primary points of contact for clients and a key part of the company's leadership team. The right person will be detail-oriented, organized, honest, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of both the numbers and the day-to-day execution of a project.

  • Maintain project documentation, including logs, schedules, change orders, photos, and client updates
  • Communicate weekly progress updates to clients
  • Identify project issues early and bring solutions to the team
  • Maintain a clean, safe, professional jobsite
  • Ensure quality craftsmanship, strong client service, and adherence to company values
  • Use JobTread and other tools to keep schedules, photos, and project information updated
  • Prepare detailed estimates for residential remodeling projects by reviewing plans, scopes of work, materials, labor needs, subcontractor pricing, and project budgets before the project moves into production.

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5+ years of residential construction experience preferred
  • Experience managing remodeling projects strongly preferred
  • Estimating experience is required; this role includes both estimating residential remodeling projects and managing those same projects through completion.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and building trades
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, scopes of work, budgets, and schedules
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Comfortable working with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members
  • Computer skills, including email, documents, spreadsheets, and project management tools
  • Ability to visit jobsites, climb ladders, access crawl spaces, and move safely around active construction areas
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required
  • A construction management degree or related education is a plus, but not required
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

Pay and Benefits

  • Full-Time. W-2 Employment
  • Pay: $70,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Company truck available for work use, with personal use permitted as a taxable benefit when applicable.
  • Cell phone provided or paid for by the company
  • Paid vacation, typically starting at 2 weeks
  • Paid standard holidays
  • 401(k) with 3% company contribution
  • Health insurance contribution up to $300/month
  • Access to dental and vision insurance
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Company-paid long-term disability insurance
  • Discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance
  • Opportunities for growth with a respected design-build remodeling company
  • Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional early/late hours depending on project schedules
