About the Position

Morins is hiring a Lead Exterior Remodeling Installer / Carpenter to oversee and work directly on residential exterior remodeling projects in the Proctor, MN area.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with strong experience in siding, windows, gutters, doors, trim, flashing, or exterior remodeling. You will lead a small crew while also performing installation work yourself.

The right person is an experienced carpenter or exterior remodeler who can lead by example, keep the crew organized, solve job-site challenges, and make sure every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to Morins' standards for craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and assist with installation of seamless gutters, downspouts, steel siding, vinyl siding, exterior trim, and flashing.
  • Install windows and doors so they are plumb, level, square, and properly weatherproofed.
  • Confirm weatherproofing meets manufacturer instructions and company quality standards.
  • Plan, measure, cut, fit, and install materials accurately.
  • Keep job sites safe, clean, organized, and productive.
  • Direct day-to-day crew activity, assign tasks, and help maintain project schedules.
  • Coach and support crew members while promoting teamwork and quality workmanship.
  • Communicate with project managers, customers, and office staff about progress, materials, and job-site needs.
  • Use JobNimbus and QuickBooks Workforce to track time, job notes, and documentation.
  • Represent Morins professionally and respectfully on every project.
Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of residential exterior carpentry, siding, remodeling, or related installation experience.
  • Previous lead carpenter, crew lead, or field leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to guide a small crew, delegate work, and keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Strong measuring, layout, cutting, fitting, and installation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in quality work.
  • Commitment to safety and doing the job correctly the first time.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in enclosed spaces when needed.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Willingness to use digital tools for time tracking, job notes, and documentation.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to build trust, coach others, and help maintain a positive crew environment.
  • OSHA or other safety-related certification is a plus.
  • Team-focused attitude with the flexibility to adapt and problem-solve in the field.
