POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Serving as the central point of coordination, the Project Manager leads crossfunctional teams, manages resources, mitigates risks, and keeps stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to successfully guide a project from initiation through closeout.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the full life cycle of construction projects (industrial, renewable energy, automotive), ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
  • Manage internal project teams and provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including milestones, resource plans, and dependencies.
  • Maintain project profitability through proactive cost control, forecasting, and cashflow management.
  • Review and update project cost forecasts and schedule status at regular intervals.
  • Understand, enforce, and administer prime contract and subcontract terms.
  • Lead negotiation, issuance, and management of subcontracts; review vendor/subcontractor progress claims.
  • Manage change orders, including pricing, negotiation, and impact assessment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring project transparency, communication, and satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, permitting authorities, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Manage the design process for EPC projects, ensuring milestones are met and technical requirements are fulfilled.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables.
  • Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and execute recovery plans when budgets or schedules are jeopardized.
  • Lead conflict and issue resolution across project teams and contractors.
  • Prepare monthly project performance reports, including cost, schedule, and cashflow updates.
  • Ensure all project documentation aligns with company standards and contractual requirements.
  • Support business development and estimating teams with proposals and contract negotiations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Project Manager or Director.

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in construction, specifically in the automotive, industrial, and/or renewable energy industry.  
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical/industry experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software (Microsoft Project or Primavera P6).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering concepts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and problemsolving abilities.
  • Demonstrated commercial and business acumen.
  • Ability to lead diverse teams and work collaboratively across functions.
  • Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to work on project site and open to relocation for future projects.

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION:

  • Base salary range is $125,000 - $165,000, dependent on candidate job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. 
  • Opportunities for skill development and advancement within the company.

  • Immediate enrollment in the Company Group RRSP program. 
  • Immediate eligibility to the Company vehicle allowance package.
  • Eligibility to participate in the annual Short Term Incentive Compensation Program (ICP), with a target bonus opportunity up to 10% of base salary.
