EnSafe is accepting applications for an Environmental Remediation Project Engineer to join our team in Hartford, CT.
Candidates must be willing to work at the Hartford, CT, office location. Relocation assistance is available to meet this expectation.
What We Are Looking For:
An experienced Environmental Project Manager ready to support and manage a design team using innovative remedial technologies to address various contaminants in soil, groundwater, industrial wastewater, stormwater, and air. The right candidate will enrich our team of engineers and scientists in providing solutions to address contaminants such as PFAS, 1,4-dioxane, chlorinated solvents, petroleum, and heavy metals for sites regulated under state, CERCLA, and RCRA laws. Key responsibilities of this position include:
  • Leading and supporting remedial and process engineering projects and teams to fill data gaps, design, construct, operate, and optimize systems.
  • Planning and performing assessments, pilot tests, construction oversight, and remedying O&M.
  • Evaluating data from aquifer tests, pilot studies, bench testing, sampling events, and modeling to develop remedial strategies.
  • Preparing documents pursuant to state and federal programs, including the CT Property Transfer Program.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and mentoring others in the development of design basis, technology feasibility analyses and selection, and design plans, specifications, and reports.
  • Communicating with regulatory personnel and permitting agencies to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Providing project and client management from small dry cleaners/gas stations to complex industrial facilities to major federal facilities.
  • Preparing proposals, cost estimates, and long-term projections for remediation projects.
  • Providing technical assistance to teams working across multiple offices throughout the country, problem-solving, mentoring, leading by example, and participating in corporate technical initiatives.

Minimum skills and requirements needed:
  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited college in Environmental Science, Geology or Engineering
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience required.
  • EIT, GIT, P.G. or P.E. preferred
  • CT LEP or CT LEP Track.
  • Knowledge of CT RSRs, CERCLA, RCRA, NYSDEC DER-10, and other environmental legislation.
  • Hands-on experience with remediation technologies and O&M for soil, groundwater, stormwater, industrial wastewater, and air for a wide range of contaminants.
  • Strong consulting, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • State, municipal, and federal contracts/project management experience, with a focus on conducting work within the Northeast regional states.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel overnight.

Actual compensation for this position in Connecticut will be based upon a variety of factors, including geographic location, education, related work experience, certifications, skills, and current market conditions.
