Job Summary:

The Virginia Transplant Center at Henrico Doctor's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a Transplant Nephrologist and Medical Director to join our Adult Kidney Transplant Program. 
About the Position:
  • Oversight and execution of medical aspects of pre- and post-transplantation care of kidney transplant candidates/recipients, both inpatient and outpatient. 
  • Evaluation and post donation care for living donor candidates.
  • Active participation in the transplant specific Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives in accordance with all applicable CMS regulations and UNOS bylaws and policies.
  • Collaboration with Program Director, Transplant Administration and Hospital administration in clinical operations, workflows, and growth of our kidney transplant program.
  • Administrative duties include developing the kidney transplant program, optimizing transplant outreach to the community and nephrologists, guiding the quality components of the program, and increasing referrals to our Transplant Program.

Qualified Candidates:
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Program and a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship program.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
  • A strong commitment to patient care with demonstrated ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to obtain a Virginia State Medical License.
