Job description

Job Summary:
Joe Lunghamer Chevrolet Inc., a leading automotive dealership in Waterford Township, Michigan, is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Chevrolet LOF (Lube, Oil, and Filter) Service Technician. This is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry that offers competitive compensation and benefits. As a LOF Service Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance and servicing of Chevrolet vehicles in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for cars and a strong technical aptitude.  We are willing to teach/train individuals with little to no automotive experience, as long you are of sound character.  If you value yourself as someone who can follow instructions without rebuke, you are welcome.  If you believe in the principle of duty, you are welcome.  If you understand that on time is early, you are welcome.
Compensation & Benefits:
The compensation for this position ranges from $16 to $20 per hour based on experience and qualifications. We also have a spiff program applied to your hourly wage to compensate for components that need repair/replacement that are sold by the service advisors. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and employee discounts on vehicles and services.

-We are looking for apprentices willing to work with General Motors Certified Master Technicians as well as Lube, Oil and Filter employees willing to take on a career in automotive repair.  We promote from within in first and foremost!

-We will be looking to fill a Mobile Technician role by the end of the year as well and being a high performing, reliable, dedicated automotive professional for this entry level position of LOF Technician, give you a great opportunity for this position.  It will pay $50,000 to $60,000 a year to start.  Again, we promote from within first and foremost!
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on Chevrolet vehicles (other makes and models at times), including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements
- Visually inspect vehicles for leaks of any kind, belts, brakes, air/cabin filters, wiper blades, etc.
- Communicate with precise and exact language to service advisors to provide updates on vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Keep track of service schedules and maintain accurate service records
- Stay up-to-date with technological advancements and training on new Chevrolet models
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations in the workplace
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1-2 years of experience as an automotive technician or mechanic (or value: Duty, Punctuality, Honesty, Respect, Teamwork, Willingness to Learn).
- ASE certification is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Chevrolet vehicles and their systems are a plus
- Strong technical and diagnostic abilities
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
