Job description

Are you ready to join a US Best Managed Company? KENT Worldwide™ is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function at our Bolingbrook, IL Facility. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, asset management, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and maintenance team development. The Maintenance Manager partners closely with Operations, Quality, Safety, Engineering, IT, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and GMP standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading maintenance teams, optimizing equipment performance, minimizing production downtime, and managing maintenance budgets in a manufacturing environment.
  • This is a salaried position with a complete benefit package reporting to the Plant Manager.
  • The compensation range for this role is $92,000 to $120,000, in addition to KENT standard benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k). Final compensation is subject to variation based on the candidate's skills, job responsibilities, location and other pertinent factors.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the Maintenance team to complete work safely, correctly, efficiently, and in compliance with KPFG safety, food safety, GMP, SOP requirements.
  • Own the site maintenance system, including planning and scheduling, CMMS/work order quality, PM compliance, backlog management, spare parts inventory, documentation, certifications, permits, and annual testing records.
  • Drive equipment reliability by investigating failures, analyzing downtime and recurring issues, leading root cause/corrective actions, and improving preventative and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Lead Maintenance / Reliability / Asset Management focus areas, including gap assessments, current-state baselines, prioritized action plans, maintenance KPIs, implementation tracking, and progress updates.
  • Maintain strong cross-functional communication with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, IT, Finance, Supply Chain, vendors, and shift teams to minimize production disruption and support equipment, capital, and automation needs.
  • Develop maintenance talent through performance feedback, skills matrix management, training plans, coaching, succession planning, and clear roles and responsibilities for leads, mechanics, apprentices, and support roles.
  • Maintain neat, orderly maintenance work areas and support fabrication, troubleshooting, off-hours issue diagnosis, vendor/manufacturer visits, and procedure or work instruction creation or revision as needed.
  • Manage maintenance spending within budget and monitor key performance indicators, including downtime, MTBF, MTTR, PM completion, schedule compliance, backlog, spare parts accuracy, and maintenance spend.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelors degree in a Technical related field

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years in a manufacturing maintenance role
  • 3+ years in maintenance leadership role
  • Experience using CMMS/work order systems, maintenance KPIs, gap assessments, reliability improvement tools, and structured root cause analysis to drive measurable equipment performance improvement
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to use a computer or tablet including MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word programs.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends when required
  • Able to travel within the US when required
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to work in high or confined spaces
