Job Description

The purpose of the Reliability Technician's position is to lead the site's reliability process by ensuring consistent compliance with maintenance schedules and methodologies, implementing improved practices and procedures, and the applying best practices to the preventive/predictive maintenance programs.  The position will collaborate closely with the production, mechanical maintenance, and electrical maintenance departments.

  • Develop and implement short and long-term continuous improvement strategies related to plant reliability.
  • Provide troubleshooting and problem solving support to the maintenance team
  • Provide justification and assist in the purchase of critical spare parts
  • Assist CMMS Engineer in estimating man hours and materials needed for maintenance and repairs activities
  • Conduct thermal imaging, vibration analysis, lubrication analysis, and other proactive tasks to promote a predictive maintenance program
  • Develop SOPs for maintenance tasks relative to process reliability.
  • Assist in developing PM and PDM tasks to reflect the results of reliability activities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing a reliability program for the MDF and PB plants
  • Perform daily vibration analysis on electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Perform daily thermography analysis on electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Develop/maintain a thermography inspection catalog with the purpose of long term trending mechanical and electrical equipment

  • Perform downtime analysis to determine root causes of unscheduled stoppages
  • Gather and analyze reliability data from the production floor and data bases and apply statistical analysis, engineering techniques and reliability practices to interpret this data.
  • Conduct scheduled audits to ensure compliance with SOPs
  • Work closely with Technical Audit teams and provide follow-up and communication on findings
  • Provide detailed cost / savings analysis relative to process improvement projects.
  • Plan and perform engineering research, design development, and process engineering assignments
  • Make recommendations on cost savings initiatives to senior management
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years experience as an entry level reliability engineer or 5-10 years experience in a maintenance / production leadership role in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably panel production.  Experience working in a CMMS environment
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft office products
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or an associate's degree in a electrical/mechanical field with equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills

  • Broad, practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment

  • Well developed interpersonal skills (persuasive, diplomatic, and mature)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to read and understand complicated mechanical, hydraulic
