Shift: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM | 1-hour lunch | No remote work available
Job Overview
Our client, a New Jersey state government agency, is seeking a Regulatory Officer to support the Division of Housing & Community Resources. The role serves as a liaison between the Division and its Regulatory Services unit, providing legal guidance, conducting hearings, and ensuring compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and policies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as liaison between the Division of Housing & Community Resources and Regulatory Services
  • Receive, formulate, and transmit requests for legal advice on behalf of the Division
  • Conduct hearings and render written decisions as required
  • Review and analyze program documents including reasonable accommodation requests
  • Conduct legal research on applicable rules, regulations, and program policies
  • Review policies and procedures for regulatory compliance
  • Provide technical guidance on Legislative Agenda items
  • Complete special projects within established timeframes
  • Handle OPRA requests as records custodian
Required Skills
  • Ability to conduct legal research and analyze legal documents and regulatory matters in a government agency
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed attorney
  • Must be eligible to practice as an Attorney-at-Law in the State of New Jersey
  • Must possess a current Certificate of Good Standing issued by the NJ Board of Bar Examiners
Preferred Skills
  • Certificate of Good Standing from another U.S. state
  • Experience in housing law, administrative law, or government regulatory compliance

Fully onsite at 101 S Broad St., 5th Floor, Trenton, NJ 08625. This position does not offer remote work.
Engagement Details
Contract engagement. Shift hours are 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch break.
