Job description

Purpose of Position:

  • To obtain all necessary information from both inpatients and outpatients to initiate treatment and billing by completing data entry and clinical information into the registration system.ย 
  • The registration department is the front door to this hospital and the patient registrar must provide professional, efficient, quality customer service.

Job Description:
  • Enter and/or verify all information into Medipac registration system
  • Verify eligibility for all insurances utilizing electronic verification systems
  • Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire for every Medicare patient
  • Screen all Medicare outpatient lab patients for medical necessityย 
  • Offer financial assistance and do quick financial screening application for all uninsured patients
  • Enter admissions for any ED admission
  • Update departed emergency patients
  • Tear down and assemble ED record
  • Contact AultWorks for any workman's compensation patient
  • Memo all pertinent information regarding billing and insurance into Mpac system
  • Assure that Medipac System and Cerner system are in sync at all times
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the following systems:ย  MPAC, Cerner (FirstNet and SugiNet), AultWorks, RevRunner, RQI, Bed Tracking, HealthWorks Compliance Checker ย ย ย ย ย ย 
  • Follow all hospital and department policies

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, minimum
  • Ability to type at least 35 wpm
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, useful
  • Ability to work calmly and accurately in stressful situations
