Job description

Position Details
  • Schedule: 0.9FTE- 4 9hour shifts- 8am-5:30pm
  • Location: Plymouth - MNGI Digestive Health
  • Salary Range: Starting range $40.39 - $46.45/hour (Where an applicant may fall on the salary range will vary based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience & education)

Key Responsibilities
  • Record patients’ medical history and assessment.
  • Start IV/saline lock.
  • Perform INR and glucose testing.
  • Prepare patients for and assist physician in endoscopy procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records in the electronic health record.
  • Recovery of sedated patients and discharge assessments.
  • Utilize proper infection control techniques.
  • Monitor all aspects of patient care, anticipate patient and physician needs.
  • Instruct individuals and families on topics such as health education and disease prevention.

Additional Responsibilities May Include:

  • Infusion and injection administration
  • Esophageal Motility/PH testing
  • ARM/Biofeedback
  • InterSTIM wire placement and removal
  • Assist with BRAVO Capsule placement
  • Capsule studies
  • Maintain supplies by keeping supplies stock for the Endoscopy Center and order as needed
  • On-Call Prep RN (Vadnais Heights Endoscopy Site)
    • Responding to patient calls while on call (evening, weekend or holiday)
  • At our Vadnais Heights, Lakeville, Northeast Minneapolis and Maple Grove Endoscopy Sites:
    • Admission, recovery, and procedural care of pediatric patients
    • All RNs at the Northeast Minneapolis location will be expected to care for pediatric patients
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Essential Functions: In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily and regular attendance is required. Education and/or Experience:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. 

  • One to two years of clinical experience is preferred.

  • GI related experience is preferred. 

  • Experience using an Electronic Health Record is required.

  • PACU experience preferred

Certifications/Licenses: 

    • Current Minnesota Nursing License is required. 

    • Must be BLS certified. 

    • Pediatric sites require PALS certification for Charge Nurses.
