Job description

MANAGER - REGIONAL BANKING PBBWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Using their exceptional leadership skills the primary responsibility of the Regional Banking Manager (RBM) is to develop and execute strategies to promote a dynamic sales/service culture, revenue growth and optimization of overall profitability of branches within their assigned geography. The RBM achieves these objectives through proactive sales, operational and relationship management within three specific business segments: Business Banking, Preferred Banking and Small Business Banking.

This includes ensuring each Branch Manager and Relationship Manager has a consistent, clearly defined business development plan and process which incorporates disciplined sales and service practices focused on both client acquisition and relationship retention/expansion to maximize branch and regional profitability. Responsibilities include the development and reinforcement of colleague skills and behaviors, sharing strategies, team motivation and generation of innovative ideas to enhance client and prospect development.

The RBM acts as the senior calling officer within their region and leads by example through frequent client facing activities, including business development. Development of collaborative partnerships with fellow RBMs as well as Business Banking managers, in addition to peers and senior management in other lines of business, is essential to develop overall strategic plans for their shared market. They are the senior bank officer in the region and are responsible for creating a "CNB" presence and brand awareness in the community. They may be called upon to act on behalf of CNB in public relation activities within their region.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Sales Development & Management

  • Creates and promotes strategies targeted to growth and profitability of the branches Small Business, Preferred Banking and Business Banking segments. Works cohesively with their Regional Field Sales Manager and Regional Risk & Service Manager to collaboratively develop colleague sales and service skill sets.
  • This person has strong sales and business development skills, is responsible for establishing goals, creating and implementing sales plans, managing the sales process, and actively engaged in developing sales training for all areas of the region.
  • Primary activities include leading joint sales calls with colleagues to clients/prospects, monitoring results to conform to sales and service objectives and fostering an environment that supports a service driven sales culture consistent with the Personal & Business Banking Group.
  • Directly develops business opportunities by being active in internal and external communities.

Colleague Leadership and Development

  • Through consistent coaching of all branch colleagues, develops critical skills, knowledge, and core competencies including those related to effective client acquisition and relationship management, referrals, cross-sell, client service, and retention efforts.
  • Conduct continuous skill assessment of all officers including gap analysis, and implementation of strategies to address key gaps identified.
  • Make joint sales calls with branch managers, RM’s and BBRM’s in support of developing their sales skills. Works with bank partners to ensure all bank clients receive a consistent level of service.

Operational Integrity

  • Responsible for implementing strategies to maintain and monitor operational integrity through systems and controls that are consistent with CNB and client service objectives.
  • Recruit, build, and coach all branch and Loan Production office colleagues
  • Makes ongoing calls on key clients and prospects including joint calls with their sales team colleagues to help further develop their skills, and assist in negotiations on more complex relationships or transactions
  • Coordinates sales management activities with Business Banking managers and Division Leadership colleagues including development of effective sales strategies, processes, tactics, and referral networks
  • Monitors and analyzes results, makes recommendations to further enhance results
  • Working with branch management and the Regional Operations Manager they maintain ultimate responsibility for risk management and operational integrity by insuring compliance with established policies, practices, and procedures
  • Works closely with other lines of business and support partners to promote the best interests of the bank
  • Actively participates in community charitable events to promote and support the bank, clients, community, and create new business development opportunities
  • Complete knowledge of bank policies and procedures
  • Complies fully with all Bank Operational and Credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending, Code of Conduct, etc.)
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Required Qualifications*
  • Minimum 15 years of banking experience required.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing a sales team or teams required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in specific geographic market(s) is preferred.
  • Must be in good standing under “The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008” (Safe Act) and must be registered/licensed with the “Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry”; or must be able to be registered under the Safe Act.
Additional Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of regional management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of branch banking and operational functions, Bank services and products, and related policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of business development techniques, sales development and planning and previous sales experience.
  • Ability to assess risk levels of banking relationships in relation to economic, financial and environmental factors.
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial, small business and personal lending, with formal credit training preferred.
  • Excellent Entrepreneurial instincts required.
  • Quick adaptation skills required.
  • Excellent managerial and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Starting base salary: $175,745 - $326,377 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
