Position Overview
HireCare Services - Massachusetts is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and results-driven Regional Staffing & Recruitment Manager to join our growing nursing home organization in Boston, Massachusetts. As a key member of our team, you will oversee the scheduling and staffing teams within each assigned facility, ensuring appropriate staffing coverage, consistent scheduling practices, and effective communication between facility leadership and regional management.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and support staffing coordinators and scheduling teams across multiple skilled nursing facilities
Establish consistent scheduling procedures and expectations throughout the organization
Review facility schedules, open shifts, staffing shortages, overtime, agency usage, and call-outs
Work with Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and department leaders to identify immediate and long-term staffing needs
Ensure schedules are completed accurately and distributed on time
Assist facility teams with filling open shifts and resolving urgent coverage issues
Monitor employee availability, attendance patterns, scheduling conflicts, and recurring staffing gaps
Develop strategies to reduce overtime, agency usage, vacancies, and last-minute staffing shortages
Assist with recruitment for nursing, clinical, and other facility-based positions
Coordinate with internal and external recruitment teams regarding priority openings and candidate flow
Track candidates from application through interview, offer, onboarding, and start date
Help ensure new employees are added to facility schedules promptly after completing onboarding
Monitor vacancies, interviews, offers, pending hires, and confirmed starts for each facility
Create and maintain regional staffing and recruitment reports
Train, coach, and hold facility staffing coordinators accountable for performance and follow-up
Conduct regular calls and facility visits to review staffing concerns, recruitment progress, and workforce plans
Ensure scheduling practices follow company policies, union requirements where applicable, and applicable staffing regulations
Participate in occasional after-hours staffing escalation as needed
Qualifications
Previous experience in healthcare staffing, scheduling, recruitment, or workforce management required
Skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or senior-care experience strongly preferred
Multi-facility, regional, or supervisory experience preferred
Strong understanding of nursing schedules, shift coverage, overtime management, and staffing ratios
Experience working with RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing-home employees preferred
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple facilities, deadlines, and urgent staffing situations
Comfortable reviewing staffing reports and using data to identify problems and recommend solutions
Experience with scheduling, applicant-tracking, payroll, HRIS, or workforce-management systems preferred
Ability to travel throughout Boston and the surrounding Massachusetts area as needed
