Job description

Regional Director of Maintenance

Prestige Healthcare Administrative Services is seeking an experienced Regional Maintenance Director to oversee our region of skilled nursing facilities throughout Richmond, Virginia and District of Columbia. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in a skilled and long-term care setting, along with the ability to travel regularly between our Virginia and the District of Columbia sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regional oversight of maintenance, and physical plant operations across all assigned skilled nursing facilities in VA and D.C.

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Life Safety and Department of Health regulations.

  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, fire/life safety systems, and building infrastructure.

  • Oversee improvement projects, renovations, and equipment upgrades across facilities, managing budgets and contractor relationships.

  • Manage regional maintenance budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency across sites.

  • Respond to and coordinate emergency repairs, disaster preparedness planning, and other emergencies (severe weather, power outages, etc.).

  • Conduct regular facility walkthroughs and audits across Virginia and D.C. to assess safety, and maintenance program compliance.

  • Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping for inspections, equipment logs, and life safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, generators, etc.) is being completed accurately.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Technical/trade certification or degree in facilities management, engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 5–7 years of maintenance/facilities management experience, including at least 2–3 years in a multi-site or regional role.

  • Prior experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or healthcare facilities required.

  • Strong working knowledge of Life Safety Code, CMS regulations, and state health department requirements for long-term care facilities.

  • Hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, and fire/life safety systems.

  • Ability to travel regularly to facilities throughout Virginia and D.C.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
