Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the accounting department personnel.
  • Maintain general ledgers for all Rhode Island properties, including sportsbook and I gaming operations
  • Oversee monthly close process
  • Aid in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting packages due to corporate
  • Oversee the collections of inter-track settlements.
  • Maintain contract files.
  • Balance monthly cash accounts.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts
  • Analyze various monthly general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly Sales Tax reports.
  • Responsible for all remittances to the Rhode Island Lottery
  • Responsible for federal and state remittances to the Department of Treasury and State of Rhode Island, respectively
  • Responsible for submissions of marketing reimbursement packages to the Rhode Island Lottery
  • Responsible for maintaining accounting policies and procedures
  • Coordinates with shared services for accounting processes handled by Corporate including payroll, fixed assets, leases and income taxes
  • Yearly filing of IRS reports: W2G, 1099's and 1042's.
  • Backup for daily cash reporting.
  • Backup for wire transfer
  • Reconcile Keno reports for reimbursement of bankroll.
  • Backup for Database maintenance of tote information.
  • Handle all audits of Pension plans for various unions.

Target Salary Range: $135,000

Qualifications

Education
Bachelors of Accounting (preferred)

Experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents such as technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference (preferred)
Four-year degree in Accounting A Certified Public Accountant designation is preferable A minimum of 5 years of previous work in analysis required Casino or Hospitality experience a plus Extensive use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) business software applications Extensive use of MS Office products, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access Excellent writing skills and analytical mind (preferred)
Casino or Hospitality Experience (preferred)
5 years: Analysis Experience including but not limited to General Ledger, Month close processes, quarterly reporting, etc. (required)
