WHAT THIS ROLE WILL BE DOING:

SUMMARY: The Distribution Manager position will oversee the warehouse office and staff, be responsible for maintaining proper safety procedures, proper maintenance of the facility and equipment, ensuring that we accurately distribute quality building materials on a predictable schedule that fit our customer's needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (not limited to)

Daily communication with all workers to ensure all the objectives for the day are met in a timely manner.

Use the current reports to make management decisions and changes to staff and routes.

Productivity within Warehouse (orders shipped, errors, transactions, etc.)

Material Handling for incoming materials - Oversee that incoming materials have been properly received and put away in preparation for the picking crew.

Shipping - to ensure that all daily orders have been picked, packaged, loaded and fully processed.

Review and maintain all reports that are your responsibility.

Maintain appropriate staffing based on our seasonal business - Work with Human Resources and Distribution Management for approvals and employee retention initiatives.

Ensure good communication between Transportation, Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales, Credit and all other Warehouses to ensure that customers commitments have been satisfied.

Maintain a positive and CLEAN work environment in conjunction with maintaining and enforcing all SAFETY procedures while ensuring warehouse team is following procedures as well.

Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of equipment, buildings and grounds.

Ensure that all processes and procedures are followed to ensure Customer satisfaction.

Respond promptly to all email and phone messages from your managers and other Departments.

Perform Monthly and Yearly Performance reviews on all employees.

Regular communication with the Regional Distribution Manager and VP of Distribution.

All other tasks as assigned by Management (see attachment).

A DISTRIBUTION MANAGER WILL POSSESS AND DEMONSTRATE:

Lead and promote safety culture which aligns with Wausau Supply Co. core values.

Monitor and ensure operational metrics are achieved.

Continuously evaluate ways to improve the accuracy and efficiencies of the warehouse and its operations.

Seek expertise/best practices from peers and other departments.

Ability to manage multiple demands while maintaining solid communication skills both verbally and especially by e-mail.

Ability to work independently while demonstrating leadership skills that portray excellent teamwork mentality.

Overall safety mindset is crucial to create an imbedded culture of safety within the employee population.

Problem solving and innovative solutions to eliminate obstacles.

Dynamic self-motivation and ability to work a flexible schedule.

Ability to maintain positive moral within the workforce

Education / Experience:

Associates or Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Management, or Finance. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 to 10+ years manufacturing, warehouse, or material handling experience.

3 to 5+ years manufacturing or warehouse leadership and supervisory experience.

Logistics and transportation management experience to support a fleet of tractor/trailers preferred but not required.

Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and guidelines preferred but not required.

Excellent, data-driven analytical skills required.

Excellent ERP systems skills

Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Office 365

Working Demands / Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

Ability to stand/bend/walk for long periods of time.
