To support our growth we are looking for a motivated Business Development Lead to join our Southern California operations, with a home office based in Anaheim. In this role, you will spearhead business development initiatives across Southern, helping expand NCE’s presence, strengthen client relationships, and position the firm for continued growth. Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development (BD) efforts for NCE as directed by the Marketing Director.
  • Coordinate and participate in corporate or regional marketing programs.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, client sponsors and the rest of the BD team.
  • Coordinate and attend professional conferences and events where NCE may be sponsoring.
  • Prepare market assessments and leads creation/maintenance of client management plans.
  • Assist with creating and coordination of proposal and marketing documents, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Manage and maintain relevant BD and client information in NCE’s marketing database.
  • Assist with the pace and frequency of delivery process with input from Marketing Director, technical leaders or Regional Manager.
  • Participate in weekly conference calls and BD meetings for prospective projects
  • Lead business development campaigns in Southern California.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to business development.
  • Ability to travel including overnight stays

Qualifications (Must Have):

  • Associates of Arts certification or Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Business or related business field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, as necessary.
  • Proficient with online project management database programs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Team player who can work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to multitask and to work with minimal supervision on multiple projects with fast-paced deadlines.
  • Strong background in developing and executing targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to grasp and understand business concepts and issues.
  • Ability to learn and efficiently manage and maintain a database.
  • Ability to travel throughout Southern California, including occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications (Nice to Have):

  • Minimum (2 to 5) years of experience in business development within a civil engineering, consulting or technical services environment.
  • Familiarity with Southern California municipal or county clients and public agency procurement processes.
  • Familiar with Ajera database


Working Conditions: This position may require working outside of normal business hours, including working evenings and/or weekends as necessary to attend industry functions, conferences and client meetings. While NCE has a flexible work policy, as a new company employee, we expect, and feel you will benefit and have a better opportunity to integrate into our company culture while initially working in your assigned office location on a regular basis amongst your peers. Standard Company business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Salary range: $75,000 to $100,000 annually depending on experience.
