Reports To: Manager, Divisional Asset Protection

SUMMARY

The Regional Asset Protection Manager (RAPM) assists in protecting the organization's assets, people, brand, merchandise, profitability, and property.  Reduces preventable loss by conducting specific investigations, reviewing exception reports, training store associates, conducting inventory counts, and completing shrink age control ratings.   Works diligently to meet organization and asset protection goals including achieving the company's set shrink goal for assigned region, EBIT, and comp sales goals.   Collaborates with business partners within Store Operations, Store Management, Asset Protection Department, and Human Resources to carry out Asset Protection initiatives and goals including all areas that may be defined as retail loss and within company safety objectives.

This role can be in Jacksonville, Florida or South Georgia.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for approximately 100 stores in the enterprise.
  • Ensures goals are met within region with effective partnerships with Divisional Asset Protection, Regional Sales Managers, Asset Protection Investigators, District Sales Managers, and store personnel.
  • Completes all administrative duties correctly by deadlines.
  • Manages compliance of target shrink program within region on each store visit. RAPM must complete a target shrink audit in-person or via telephone monthly and submit in ThinkLP.
  • Ensures accurate data collection/incident collection in ThinkLP. Ensures submission of cases (employee theft, major incidents) are loaded into ThinkLP within 24 hours.
  • Ensures all cases that are eligible for civil recovery are submitted and that restitution direction is properly followed. Effectively manages and coordinates cases that are prosecuted.
  • Coordinates and conducts physical inventories in assigned region. Investigates and researches any variances concerning inventory, when necessary, by reviewing inventory reports at the store level to ensure shipping/receiving of merchandise is properly executed/reconciled.
  • Conducts audits/ratings, safety compliance audits, and awareness meetings as directed.
  • Conducts Shrinkage Control Ratings for accountability in administration, back floor, salesfloor, policies, target shrink (if applicable), and equipment. Conducts at least 1 rating at all stores within region during the fiscal year and conducts an additional rating at any store that goes on the Target Shrink program or Focus 50 program, within 45 days of going on the program.
  • In coordination with the Divisional Asset Protection Manager and Asset Protection Investigator, conducts investigations on both internal and external issues within region utilizing exception-based reporting, RFID, case management, etc.
  • Conducts store visits and develops a plan for weekly visits of stores by analyzing reports and prioritizing issues. Ensures stores are in compliance with control measures, procedures, policies, and discover opportunities for improvement. This includes assessing all security equipment at the location. Findings from these visits should be communicated to the appropriate party, documented when needed.
  • Audits alarm code and call list on each visit. Ensures that all alarm systems have an alarm test completed each year (50%). Inspects alarm equipment at all new stores to ensure proper devices and installation. Escalates associate integrity concerns to the AP Investigator for appropriate support and investigation.
  • Assists store teams with developing and executing an action plan to improve store shrink. Coordinates and completes staff meeting on Target Shrink locations.
  • Conducts training/coaching with new store managers and DSMs on asset protection policies and procedures to reduce shrink and maintain accountability.
  • Communicates effectively within region to bring awareness to potential shrink issues.
  • Conducts new store training for associates and management when a new location opens. Partners with AP Investigator where appropriate for training in high shrink/high incident markets. Completes New store training within 30 days of opening. Ensures that new store AP audits are submitted into ThinkLP.
  • Assists law enforcement with external theft cases. Maintains effective liaison with local authorities to ensure that all cases prosecuted are properly coordinated. Ensures that the appropriate cases are properly escalated to the AP Investigator for support and investigation.
  • Attains EBIT goals by controlling expenses, recovering restitution, and addressing loss.
  • Assists stores with inventory management issues (shipping/ receiving, RFID, RTV) to ensure inventory quality and accurate shrink. Partners with IAO when necessary.
  • Protects the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
  • Measurable Outcomes: Sales and shrink to accurately track budget to allocate resources effectively.
  • Travels up to 75% of the time.
  • On call duties: After hours and weekends.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

2 - 4 years of related experience.

Strong analytical and investigatory skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Experience working for a retail company.
