Job description

The Regional Engineering Operations Manager manages a region of portfolios, ensuring optimal performance and tenant satisfaction while leading engineering teams and ensuring compliance with operational standards. This role assists the Director with all aspects of engineering, oversees recruitment of all staff for the designated region, aligns regional budgets, and manages energy efficiency efforts to meet company standards and owner objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategically manage maintenance and operations across a broad regional portfolio, ensuring consistency and scalability in practices.
  • Oversee compliance with regulations, building codes, and environmental standards while promoting client-centric solutions.
  • Supervise the development and uniformity of operational policies and energy-saving initiatives across locations.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to assess needs and provide consultative support for projects, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Prepare and manage regional budgets with a focus on resource allocation and process efficiency in line with financial strategies.
  • Ensure building standards are maintained as established in the annual Engineering audit and semi-annual quality control inspections across the region.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of safety training programs; establish a comprehensive compliance tracking system across all facilities; coordinate regional safety audits and inspections.
  • Provide regional-level support for emergency response efforts across multiple locations.
  • Collaborate with building owners and asset managers to ensure reliable building operations and profitability; work with vendors to perform building assessments and create financial models and staffing plans.
  • Supports the Director to develop and administer regional staff training programs; researches best practices to maximize staff development; oversees recruitment for the designated region.
  • Drives strong results from direct reports by providing appropriate work direction, strategic guidance, and performance management.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of working or industry-related experience.
  • Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
  • SMT/SMA preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of HVAC, BAS, fire protection, life safety systems, capital budgeting, and energy management practices; strong skills in contract administration and project management.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products, energy management software systems, CMMS, and other building operational platforms.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds; ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as stooping, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
