About the role
The Refrigeration Engineer is responsible for the hands-on engineering, design, and technical execution of industrial refrigeration and process utility systems. This role partners closely with sales, project management, field teams, and customers to analyze, design, and implement systems utilizing ammonia, CO₂, synthetic refrigerants, chilled water/glycol, and steam.
Responsibilities
Support full design-build engineering efforts for industrial refrigeration projects.
Create, review, and issue engineering drawings, redline markups, and P&IDs.
Perform engineering calculations, including mass and energy balances, heat gain and product load calculations, and equipment, piping, and valve sizing.
Develop refrigeration system solutions that meet customer operational needs.
Prepare project estimates and support the development of customer proposals.
Maintain engineering quality and compliance by staying current with applicable codes and industry standards.
Support projects from design through implementation in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
5+ years of industrial ammonia refrigeration engineering experience
Practical working knowledge of refrigeration cycles, heat transfer, fluid flow, and psychrometrics
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong work ethic
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
Willingness to travel to customer facilities
(Nice to have, but doesn't limit the ability to be hired):
Professional Engineer license
Hands on operating or field experience
