Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Referral Assistant works with external physician office staff, patients and families, providers and clinical staff to facilitate a fast and efficient referral process.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Advanced training through vocational school or college desired.

Knowledge:

  • Medical background and experience as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) highly desirable.
  • Basic medical terminology required.
Skills:
  • Must have written and oral communication skills and excellent organizational skills and superior customer service skills.
  • Comfortable with regularly verifying and processing insurance eligibility and obtaining authorization requests, including verifying personal credentials with external partners to obtain this information (e.g., ID.me for identity verification for VA insurance coordination).
