Job description

Schedule/Hours: 40 hours per week

This position is responsible for: Manages, monitors, and supervises federal inmate who are in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and housed at the Residential Reentry Center (RRC); meets with inmates weekly to discuss program requirements, process in set goals and the different components of the program. Review’s inmate program participation and makes recommendations regarding and disciplinary matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in maintaining resident files, records, and documentation in an up – to- data manner; keeps the same in a secure location.
  • Evaluates resident progress weekly through individual Program Plans, counseling as necessary on moral, motivation and adjustment issues.
  • Assists in investigating and resolving incidents, complaints, or behavioral problems, utilizing specific due process procedures.
  • Assists Program Director in compiling and timely submission of records and documentation as directed by the referral source and/or contact guidelines.
  • Administers other program duties and assignments as delegated by the BOP Program Director.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements

Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Work requires travel in order to conduct community and home visits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or a related field, One year experience performing correctional, security or social service work preferred.

Or

Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid State Driver’s License
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certifications
