What is a Reel Surgical professional?

Reel Surgical professionals are specialized technicians or engineers who design, maintain, and operate surgical reel systems used in medical settings. These systems are typically cable management devices that help organize and deliver surgical instruments or medical equipment efficiently in operating rooms. Their work ensures that surgeries can proceed smoothly, minimizing clutter and reducing the risk of equipment-related complications. Reel Surgical professionals may also be involved in troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading these systems as technology evolves.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a surgical technologist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Surgical Technologist, you need a solid understanding of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and anatomy, typically supported by a diploma or associate degree in surgical technology and certification such as CST. Familiarity with surgical instruments, operating room equipment, and electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential. Attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are critical soft skills in this role. These skills ensure patient safety, efficient surgical operations, and effective support for surgeons and medical teams.

What are some common challenges faced by surgical technologists working in the operating room, and how can they overcome them?

Surgical technologists, often known as 'scrub techs,' frequently encounter challenges such as maintaining strict sterile technique in high-pressure situations, adapting quickly to unexpected changes during surgery, and effectively communicating with surgeons and other team members. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and continuous learning to stay updated on new procedures and equipment. Building strong relationships with the surgical team and participating in regular training sessions can help technologists navigate these challenges and ensure patient safety.

Job description

Goals is one of the fastest-growing cosmetic surgery brands in the country, and our social media is our storefront. This role is our camera on the ground: you'll be inside the Bronx office daily, capturing real patient moments and surgeon content that stops the scroll, builds trust, and books consults.

This is a hands-on creator role — not a desk job. If you live on TikTok and IG, love being around people, and can turn a trend into a posted Reel the same day, this is for you.

What you'll do:

  • Film daily short-form content on-site — Reels, TikToks, testimonials, before/afters, and behind-the-scenes with patients and surgeons.
  • Direct talent and put patients at ease on camera — make people feel comfortable, get signed consent/releases before filming.
  • Edit vertical video fast (CapCut / Premiere) and post across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
  • Stay on top of trends — track trending audios, hooks, and formats every day and adapt them to our brand quickly.
  • Travel to the Brooklyn location as needed for shoots and surgeon availability.
  • Coordinate content schedules with surgeons and front-desk staff so filming fits the clinic flow.
  • Light community management — reply to comments and DMs, surface leads and FAQs to the team.

What you bring — must-haves:

  • Fluent English and Spanish — comfortable on camera and in captions in both.
  • A real content portfolio — send your IG/TikTok handles or samples. We want to see what you make.
  • Self-directed editor — CapCut at minimum; you can shoot and cut without hand-holding.
  • On-set people skills — professional, discreet, and warm in a medical/clinical setting with real patients.
  • Trend-native — you know what's working this week, not last quarter.
  • Reliable and local — based in or near the Bronx, able to commute to Brooklyn occasionally.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in aesthetics, beauty, or med-spa content
  • On-camera presence / can host or narrate
  • Basic graphic design (Canva)
  • Your own filming kit (phone gimbal, ring light, mic)

How to apply:

Send us:

  1. Your Instagram + TikTok handles (or a portfolio link)
  2. 2–3 vertical videos you filmed and edited yourself
  3. One line: a trend or format you'd run for us this week

Applications without content samples won't be reviewed.
