Join the Dura-Line Team as a Lead Grinder/Reel Builder - Your Gateway to Manufacturing Excellence! 

Dura-Line is seeking an experienced Lead Grinder/Reel Builder for our Clinton, TN facility. In this role, you will oversee daily grinding and reel-building operations, ensuring efficient reel supply to production and proper recycling of scrap materials. You'll lead team performance, support safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement. Main Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor, operate and maintain grinding area equipment to ensure efficient and safe processing of scrap conduit. 

  • Monitor product and equipment parameters to meet quality requirements. 

  • Train and mentor operators on equipment usage and procedures, emphasizing safety and adherence to company policies. 

  • Accurately document ground product dimensions and track weights. 

  • Perform cleanup in the grinding area. 

  • Responsible for all aspects of scrap conduit reprocessing and assist with scrap material separation. 

  • Maintain the supply of reels required for production on the extrusion lines. 

  • Utilize a forklift to transport returned reels from the reel return area to the production lines for re-use. 

  • Construct and assemble reels according to specifications outlined in orders, ensuring a seamless supply to the extrusion lines. 

  • Review the production schedule to determine the reels required for maintaining production during the shift. 

  • Keep the work area neat and orderly to enhance operational efficiency. 

  • Follow all safety requirements for the position and adhere to company safety guidelines to maintain a secure working environment. 

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor, showcasing adaptability and dedication to the team. 

  • Adhere to Dura-Line's quality policy, ensuring that all processes meet the highest standards. 

Requirements: 

  • Excellent attendance record, values teamwork, and reliability. 

  • Basic computer skills and ability to perform simple math. 

  • Read and follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, work instructions, and safety guidelines. 

  • Knowledge and understanding of grinding equipment, power hand tools, band saw, and extrusion equipment. 

  • Ability to obtain in-house lift truck/forklift operator certification. 

  • Working knowledge of grinders, extruders, printers, reelers, vacuum systems, chiller systems, resin systems, pullers, quality control standards, and product specifications. 

  • Ability to use small hand tools 

  • Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable assistance. 

  • Work on foot around hot machinery for 8 to 12 hours a shift. 

  • Maneuver through different areas by stepping over and/or bending under objects. 

  • Mobility to allow frequent entrance and exits from lift truck. 

  • Wear necessary safety equipment, including dust mask, earplugs, and face shields. 

  • Climb ladders, listen to equipment, look for defects, and sense temperature changes in the finished product. 

The compensation for this position will typically range from $18.00/hr.  The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.   

The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
