ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Server Assistant at Hook & Reel, you are the bridge between the dining room and the kitchen. You will be instrumental in helping to create a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. This position is perfect for someone who loves interacting with people and thrives in a lively, fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Greet all guests promptly and warmly upon arrival.
  • Answer guest questions regarding the menu and Hook & Reel brand.
  • Provide accurate information regarding menu, pricing, hours, promotions, and policies.
  • Listen attentively to guests to ensure their needs are met.
  • Assist with side work and opening/closing tasks.
  • Observe and monitor table turnover by taking note of occupied, dirty or clean tables.
  • Support the front-of-house team in resetting tables quickly to seamlessly transition tables to guests.
  • Support the front-of-house team in running food quickly to ensure there are no gaps in the guests' experience.
  • Inform management of large parties, special requests, or guest concerns.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with the kitchen staff and management regarding allergy orders.
  • Maintain a positive, energetic, and hospitality-focused attitude at all times.
  • Multi-task and balance between bar and dining room orders.
  • Be a team player, assisting other team members whenever needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Functions:
  • Prior restaurant experience is not necessary but preferred.
  • Hold a valid State-Mandated Food Handlers Certification, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards (where applicable).
