Job description

Job Title: Epidemiologist

Location: Nashville, TN – Hybrid
Pay Rate: $ 1,300 TO $ 1,520 per week 
Contract: Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST
Experience: Master's degree with relevant epidemiology/biostatistics experience
Residency: Tennessee residents only

About the Role

The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking an Epidemiologist 1 to support the Community Health Access and Navigation in Tennessee (CHANT) initiative. This role focuses on REDCap data systems, SAS programming, reporting, data analysis, and public health surveillance support.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain CHANT REDCap data collection projects and implement changes based on program requirements.

  • Prepare recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and support data analysis and visualization.

  • Develop, modify, and test SAS code and REDCap projects to support monitoring and evaluation activities.

  • Provide technical assistance to staff and respond to data inquiries from regional teams, leadership, stakeholders, and public health partners.

  • Pull, clean, analyze, and validate data while supporting MCH surveillance projects and ad-hoc data requests.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health Biostatistics, Statistics, or Health Information, or a related master's degree with qualifying experience.

  • Proficiency in statistical programming, particularly SAS.

  • Extensive experience with REDCap and electronic data management.

  • Strong knowledge of complex databases, data collection, analysis, reporting, and data quality.

  • Strong communication, customer service, teamwork, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
