This position supports Biomedical Informatics component for the Children's Foundation Research Institute (CFRI) by transforming and strengthening informatics technologies to support research. Responsible for developing new informatics technologies, which may include software technologies, data storage technologies, and translational science technologies, utilizing geographic information for health outcomes and translational science technologies, the combination of basic science research and patient-centered clinical applications. A Brief Overview

What you will do
  • Utilizes and implements software and design practices to document biomedical informatics solutions to support a wide range of informatics and research.
  • Works directly with researchers to analyze and translate their needs into technical designs and informatics solutions.
  • Leads efforts to ensure that biomedical informatics systems support via effective project management, presentation, communication and organization practices.
  • Leads efforts to ensure that biomedical informatics systems support and advance research objectives.

Education/Formal Training Requirements
  • Master's Degree Biomedical Informatics
  • Master's Degree Computer sciences
  • Master's Degree Biostatistics
  • Master's Degree Public Health

Work Experience Requirements
  • 1-3 years Informatics technologies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of preparing peer review articles.
  • Experience with web development technologies, web-scripting and object-orented languages, such as PHP, C#, SQL, CSS, JavaScript, JAVA, XML, HTML5, Web services, etc.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, like Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc., as well as version control software, and continuous integration software.
  • Familiar with Data Management System (e.g., REDCap, OpenClinica, etc.).
  • Possesses strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skill.
  • Experience in developing applications for higher education/biomedical environments and general purpose visual analytic tools that offer a fresh way to visually browser and arrange massive amounts of data for research.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research and to analyze data in order to produce publications and instructional materials for the academic and public communities and communicate these findings through presentations and articles.

  • There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this role.

  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
