Job Title:Blow Molding Process Technician

1 Vacancy at Applewhite facility for 2nd shift ($1.00 Shift differential). Monday through Friday from 1:30pm - 10:00 pm. (Added 6.1.2026)
Job Summary:
A Blow Molding Process Technicians primary job is to start up, monitor, program and troubleshoot plastic blow-molding machines and auxiliary equipment related to the molding process. This requires specialized knowledge of materials, specific tools, and equipment. Troubleshooting tasks might include dealing with inconsistent material, faulty equipment, human error, and preventing defects from occurring.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Ability to problem solve proficiently.
• Manage machine process efficiency initiatives, scrap minimization, materials conservation.
• Set up and start up molding machines, read part prints, and have a working knowledge of hand tools to measure parts such as calipers.
• Ensure Blow Molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and connected systems are set to parameters, meet quality standards and all production goals.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, to include but not limited to, overall cleanliness and appearance of the machine and area surrounding machine.
• Monitor and maintain material handling systems.
• Assist with Mold Set Ups and material changes..
• Monitor and troubleshoot processing problems, perform preventive maintenance tasks, and document process changes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot processing problems and document process changes.
• Understand the importance of reducing and re-using material scrap to protect our environment and save costs.
• Maintain process logs/monitors in keeping with SWI's
• Maintain a positive attitude at all times exhibiting professionalism and willingness to work as a team for the best solution.
• Identify and request mold repairs as needed.
• Enter work orders into Red Zone software.
• Complete all daily task by completing and recording in Red Zone software.
• Coordinate & escalate various maintenance/processing issues in a timely manner.
• Follow escalation policy.
• Perform start of shift walk through with off going/ ongoing Process Techs.
• Coordinate 5S activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
• High school diploma or GED
Experience:
• 2 years in a position as a Mold Setter/Setup or similar role required.
• 5 years working as a Process Technician with various brands of injection molding/ Blow Molding machines.
• Experience with various automation equipment including Sepro, Whittman, and others.
• Process knowledge of different resins such as polypropylene, nylon, PPO, Acetal, etc.
• Experience in an automotive JIT manufacturing environment preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
• RJG/Paulson training preferred.
Computer Skills
• Intermediate level in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and in the use of e-mail, web browser applications.
Mathematical Abilities:
• Intermediate-advanced math skills.
Analytical or Reasoning Abilities:
• Strong analytical, planning skills and critical thinking ability required with orientation for continuous improvement.
• Ability to understand and follow written technical procedures/instructions
• Ability to effectively prepare business and technical documentation such as procedures, reports, presentations, etc.
Communication Skills: (Writing, Foreign Language, Reasoning)
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Highly effective, articulate communication skills (verbal & written) with strong interpersonal effectiveness and the ability to work with all levels in the organization and across cultures
• Bilingual English-Spanish preferred
Other Skills (Technical, or Other special knowledge and abilities)
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage a variety of projects and tasks.

Physical Requirements:
  • 100% will be spent on the production floor completing work related to the position.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds individually and team lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures without endangering the health or safety of self or others. Must wear all personal protective equipment where required.

  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
