Class B Commercial Drivers License./ppReports To: Transportation Specialist/ppJob Summary: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the districts curriculum and extracurricular program./ppEssential Functions:/pulliObeys all traffic laws./liliObserves all mandatory safety regulations for school buses./liliMaintains discipline when students are on the bus./liliReports undisciplined students to the proper authority./liliCleans the assigned bus./liliAdheres to the assigned schedule./liliConducts pre-trip inspection before each operation, for mechanical defects./liliNotifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness./liliDischarges students at authorized stops only./liliExercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips./liliTransports only authorized students./liliReports all accidents and completes required reports./liliEnforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus./liliPerforms all other duties as directed by the Superintendent or her/his designee./li/ulpKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:/pulliAnnual certification in Red Cross CPR./liliObtain and maintain Paraprofessional Certification./liliObtain and maintain a Class B Commercial Drivers license. Training will be provided annually at the Districts expense./liliKnowledge of public safety and security./liliBe thorough and pay attention to detail./liliHave patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations./liliAble to work well with others./liliAble to operate and control equipment./li/ulpPhysical and Environmental Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time without a break, etc.
