We are looking for a Waste and Recycling Sales Representative to join our dynamic Midwest Waste Solutions team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing waste management programs for companies that generate large volumes of recycling and waste. This individual will collaborate closely with these businesses to help them safely and sustainably divert their recycling and waste, while also considering cost factors in their presentations.


As a Waste Diversion Specialist, you will work closely with the executive team to contribute to the development and innovative approach of our overall sales and marketing strategy. Your success will be evaluated monthly based on closed sales and the quality of your sales pipeline.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


The Waste and Recycling Sales Rep will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
  • Conduct presentations and cold calls to generate new business
  • Increase in gross margin through effective sales strategies
  • Utilize lead-generation techniques to identify potential customers
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals
  • Maintain a strong team player attitude and motivation to achieve sales targets

$50,000-$60,000 base plus commission, eligible to earn over $100k annually!

The ideal candidate for the Waste and Recycling Sales Rep position should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field (preferred, not required)
  • Proven track record of successful sales experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of waste and recycling services is a plus
  • 3 years of sales experience (preferred)
  • Results-driven with a proven track record of increasing gross margin
  • Strong lead-generation experience
  • Salesforce or other CRM experience
  • Computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and techniques
  • Project a positive attitude and maintain a professional appearance
  • Upbeat, contagious personality and strong work ethics
