Recruiting Professional information

What is a recruiting professional?

Recruiting professionals are specialists responsible for finding, attracting, and hiring qualified candidates to fill job openings within an organization. They manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating job offers. Recruiting professionals may work in-house for a company or as part of an agency, and they often collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs. Their goal is to ensure the organization attracts top talent efficiently and effectively.

What are the most common challenges recruiting professionals face when sourcing candidates, and how can they overcome them?

Recruiting Professionals often encounter challenges such as finding qualified candidates in a competitive market, managing high volumes of applications, and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process. To overcome these hurdles, recruiters can leverage advanced sourcing tools, build strong professional networks, and prioritize clear communication with candidates. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and continuously refining sourcing strategies also helps recruiters stay ahead in attracting top talent.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a recruiting professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Recruiting Professional, you need expertise in talent sourcing, candidate assessment, and a solid understanding of employment laws, often supported by a degree in human resources or related fields. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and professional certifications like SHRM-CP or PHR is highly beneficial. Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills help recruiters connect with both candidates and hiring managers. These skills ensure effective talent acquisition, a positive candidate experience, and the ability to meet organizational hiring goals.

What is the difference between Recruiting Professional vs Human Resources Specialist?

Search & Comparison IntentOften compared for recruitment roles and hiring processesCompared for broader HR responsibilities including recruitment

While both roles involve hiring, a Recruiting Professional primarily focuses on sourcing and hiring candidates, whereas a Human Resources Specialist handles a wider range of HR functions including employee relations and benefits. The roles often overlap but serve different core purposes within organizations.

How do you become a recruiting professional?

To become a recruiting professional, individuals typically pursue a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related fields and develop skills in communication, assessment, and negotiation. Gaining experience through internships or entry-level HR roles and obtaining certifications like the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) can enhance prospects. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and industry best practices is also beneficial.

Job description

Healthcare RecruiterBuild Relationships. Change Lives. Grow Your Career.

HumanEdge Healthcare Staffing | Newtown, CT

Now Hiring: 3 Relationship Development CoordinatorsAre you the person everyone enjoys talking to?

If you're a natural relationship builder with high energy, confidence, and exceptional communication skills, this could be the career you've been looking for.

This is a phone-first relationship-building role. A significant portion of your day will be spent speaking with healthcare professionals, qualifying candidates, and referring them to senior members of our recruiting team. As you develop your skills and gain experience, you'll advance into a full-cycle role where you'll build relationships with both candidates and healthcare clients.

Success in this position comes from genuinely enjoying conversations, building trust, and creating lasting relationships. If you thrive on engaging people by phone and believe every conversation is an opportunity to make a meaningful connection, you'll excel here.

Please note: While texting and email are valuable tools, they are intended to support—not replace—live conversations. If your preferred method of building relationships is primarily through SMS or email rather than speaking with people by phone, this position is unlikely to be the right fit.

At HumanEdge Healthcare Staffing, we believe great relationships are built one conversation at a time.

What You'll Do
  • Engage healthcare professionals by phone to build lasting relationships.

  • Qualify candidates through detailed conversations to understand their experience, goals, and career interests.

  • Present qualified candidates to senior recruiters for open healthcare opportunities.

  • Maintain consistent follow-up with candidates throughout the recruiting process.

  • Develop trust through professionalism, active listening, and excellent communication.

  • Accurately document candidate interactions in our applicant tracking system.

  • Learn the healthcare staffing industry from experienced recruiting professionals.

  • Advance into client-facing responsibilities and full-cycle recruiting as your skills and performance grow.

QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Outstanding verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Confident and professional telephone presence.

  • High energy with a positive, outgoing personality.

  • Strong work ethic and desire to build a long-term career.

  • Organized with excellent time-management skills.

  • Comfortable making outbound calls throughout the day.

Preferred
  • 1+ year of healthcare recruiting or healthcare staffing experience.

  • Experience in recruiting, staffing, sales, customer service, hospitality, admissions, or another relationship-focused role.

  • Experience working toward goals or performance metrics.

What Makes You Successful
  • You genuinely enjoy talking with people.

  • You build rapport quickly and make others feel comfortable.

  • You are naturally curious and ask thoughtful questions.

  • You are resilient, coachable, and eager to learn.

  • You stay positive, even when conversations don't lead to immediate results.

  • You understand that every phone call is an opportunity to help someone advance their career.

What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary.

  • Performance-based incentive opportunities.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO).

  • Paid holidays.

  • 401(k) with company match (where applicable).

  • Comprehensive onboarding and hands-on training.

  • Mentorship from experienced healthcare staffing professionals.

  • Clear career advancement into Senior Recruiter and client-facing recruiting roles.

  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture that celebrates success.

Why HumanEdge?

At HumanEdge Healthcare Staffing, we don't simply fill jobs—we build careers, strengthen healthcare organizations, and create lasting professional relationships. You'll receive the training, mentorship, and support needed to grow into a successful healthcare recruiting professional while making a meaningful impact every day.
