Job description

Job Title: Guest Services Attendant

Department: Recreation Services

Supervisor: Austin Wilson

Starting Rate of Pay: $8.00

Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis

Department Description

Recreation Services is a comprehensive approach to wellness, fellowship, and life-long fitness, that oversees the fitness center, group exercise, leisure activities, and intramural sports. As a student employee you will gain the experience of leadership and management, while enhancing your critical thinking and communication skills.

Job Description

Represent HPUREC with a positive, enthusiastic attitude while performing essential job duties within the recreation area. Students will gain transferable job skills applicable in the real world through their HPUREC employment experience such as leadership, communication, and persuasive skills.

Job Location/ Hours Required

The candidate will perform most/all job duties in (Slane). Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week is 20 hours. This position requires up to (14) hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide students access to facilities via card swipe
  • Distribute equipment for short and long term check out
  • Communicate all HPUREC related activities via telephone and in-person
  • Enhance the area in and around the fitness center
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Applicants should be strong communicators with knowledge of how a fitness center and surrounding areas work on a daily basis.

Desired Skills:

  • Must have a minimum (2.8) overall GPA
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Possess Leadership skills
  • Maintain positive attitude
  • Able to work 10-20 hours per week, flexible hours
  • Desk open 7am-12am Monday-Friday, 8am-12am Saturday and Sunday
