Job description

Job Title: Loan Operations Specialist


Banesco USA is seeking a Loan Operations Specialist for our Loan Operations business unit.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Responsible for assisting customers and bank staff with loan operations matters.
  • Assist in the G/L reconciliation for example, loan settlement, prepaid G/L, unposted G/L, loan suspense G/L and other demand G/L.
  • Responsible for booking commercial, commercial real estate, residential, consumer and unit price loan in the Jack Henry system.
  • Responsible for processing the loan modifications, renewals and extensions in accordance with the loan approval.
  • Responsible for reviewing late fee reimbursements for approval.
  • Process the loan disbursements advances, wire transfer, payment including unit price, and payoffs.
  • Process loan maintenance, loan payment reversals and repost payments in the Jack Henry system.
  • Responsible for issuing letters and memorandums in relation to loan operations matters.
  • Responsible for processing payments and correspondence on third party service loan portfolio.
  • Process Non-Accrual, Charge-Off and Recovery transactions in Jack Henry.
  • Prepare interest calculations and post interest and payment adjustments as required on Loans and Loans Participated.
  • Prepare Participation Certificate and send correspondence to participants.
  • Responsible for preparing participation certificate and notifying participants.
  • Responsible for completing annual training program assigned.
  • Performs other functions and/or duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma. Associateโ€™s degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • Experience: Three (3) years of experience in the Banking industry in the Loan Operations area.
  • Advance computer skills including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Knowledge in banking systems including but not limited to Jack Henry.
  • Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish. Ability to fluently speak, understand, read and write both languages.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task, with strong organization, time-management and prioritizing skills.
  • Customer service skills, ensuring satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, in order to ensuring compliance with department procedures.
  • Knowledge of related State and Federal banking compliance regulations and operational policies.
  • Ability to understand and comprehend instructions, procedures and policies ensuring compliance with the Bankโ€™s policies and procedures.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills in order to identify problems.
