Sentar is seeking a Database Administrator Role Description: The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for managing and maintaining the CSSP's databases. This role involves ensuring the performance, availability, and security of databases. The DBA will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

The DBA is also responsible for being the technical subject matter expert of the CSSP's User Activity Monitoring (UAM) solution. This role involves database design, maintenance and troubleshooting of both cloud and traditional on-premises databases in addition to supporting the continuous operation of the specified UAM solution. * Install, configure, and maintain database servers and processes, monitor system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

Manage database backup and recovery. Administer database security, create and maintain users and roles, and assign privileges. * Monitor and optimize database performance, plan for future capacity needs.

Tune and troubleshoot databases. Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for database modifications. * Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.

Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions. Ensure data integrity and database availability. * Create and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata).

Work with application developers to optimize database technology use. Participate in data conversion and migration project planning and implementation. * Support database-related technical issues and incidents.

Keep abreast of database technologies and best practices. Manage the UAM technical solution to meet operational requirements. * Address UAM technical issues to meet SLA/SLO and MTTR requirements.

Qualifications: Clearance Level: Secret with eligibility for upgrade to Top Secret (TS) Education: Certifications: Must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II and DoD 8140 CSSP Auditor compliant certifications. Experience: Proficiency in database management systems (DBMS) including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Experience with database design and architecture for on-premises and cloud deployments.

Knowledge of database backup and recovery, database security, and disaster recovery techniques. Experience with performance tuning and optimization. * Strong experience with AWS RDS sustainment.

Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems. Strong understanding of SQL and database scripting. * Experience with database monitoring tools.

Excellent troubleshooting skills Strong documentation skills Highly desired: Experience with other cloud-based database services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, etc.) Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence solutions. Familiarity with ITIL processes and practices. Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements.
