Job description

Do you enjoy coordinating operations, building strong relationships, and supporting teams to achieve their objectives? Can you see yourself serving as a key link between internal support groups, external contractors, and site leadership to help ensure the safe and efficient operation of the LaPrade site? In this role, you will provide operational, administrative, and communication support to site management and staff while helping drive day-to-day business activities. If you answered yes, then this Business Coordinator role may be the job for you!


What will you be doing!

  • Supporting Heavy Water Project Activities and Sales Operations
    • Maintaining accurate office records, files, and follow-up systems for outstanding issues and action items.
    • Supporting bilingual document translation of procedures, instructions, reports, and correspondence between English and French.
    • Preparing correspondence, action lists, reports, and prioritizing commitments and deadlines.
    • Reviewing incoming project correspondence and electronic communications and taking appropriate action.
    • Maintaining and updating heavy water inventory records.
    • Supporting data analysis and data entry activities within the Heavy Water system.
  • Supporting LaPrade Section Head and Operational Activities
    • Reviewing incoming correspondence and electronic communications and coordinating appropriate responses.
    • Acting as a liaison between the LaPrade Section Head/Manager and division staff.
    • Supporting the coordination and prioritization of operational and field activities.
    • Supporting Heavy Water and Radium-226 inventory management, sampling, sales, and transportation activities.
  • Ensuring Compliance with CNL Documentation and Record Management Requirements
    • Ensuring documentation complies with CNL corporate standards, including formatting, storage, and numbering protocols.
    • Reviewing, updating, and maintaining formal documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and records.
    • Maintaining and updating inventory databases supporting the storage and management of Heavy Water and Radium-226 materials.
  • Supporting Human Resources, Finance, Security, and Radiation Protection Processes
    • Handling sensitive and confidential information in Human Resources, Finance, Security, Dosimetry, and Radiation Protection.
    • Supporting invoice classification and submission processes for both PO- and Non-PO-related expenditures.
    • Preparing procurement requests, quotations, purchase orders, and service contracts for materials, equipment, tools, PPE & C, and services.
    • Supporting dosimetry administration by coordinating TLD shipments, receipts, tracking, and documentation requirements.
    • Coordinating visitor access requests and ensuring compliance with site access and SEPS requirements.
  • Supporting Shipping, Receiving, and Transportation Activities
    • Preparing shipping documentation and receiving reports in accordance with CNL standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Packaging, securing, and preparing materials, equipment, and instruments for shipment.
    • Verifying received materials, equipment, and instruments and coordinating appropriate follow-up actions.
    • Maintaining required training and supporting Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) shipping activities.
  • Supporting Contractor Coordination and Procurement Activities
    • Preparing and maintaining documentation required to support contractor work and contract development activities.
    • Coordinating with external contractors regarding scheduling, site access, and work execution requirements.
    • Supporting CNL Procurement activities as a secondary contact for contractor-related matters.
    • Supporting contractor engagement and site work to ensure timely, effective project execution.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • University Degree or Diploma from a recognized educational institute in Commerce or Business Administration.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of related and progressive experience; or equivalent combination of formal training with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
    • Experience working within a Management System.
    • Experience with procurement processes
    • Familiarity with Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) protocols an asset.
    • Experience in planning, procurement, and reporting within a team environment.
    • Experience working with multidisciplinary subjects/topics, involving organizing, planning, coordinating, assessing, analyzing, and presenting information and ideas.
    • Experience in developing and writing business and work plans, reports, presentation packages, and briefing notes.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Highly self-motivated and team player.
    • Comfortable performing duties under broad general direction with minimal oversight, and willing to work cooperatively with others.
    • Ability to work effectively with personnel from varying disciplines to act in a leadership capacity when required, as well as to manage relationships with other CNL Departments.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's "Standard on Security Screening" and the "Policy on Government Security."

Working Conditions

  • Working schedule: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week.

  • Soutenir les activites du projet d'eau lourde et les operations de vente
    • Maintenir a jour les dossiers administratifs, fichiers et systemes de suivi des mesures en suspens.
    • Soutenir la traduction bilingue de procedures, d'instructions, de rapports et de correspondance entre l'anglais et le francais.
    • Preparer la correspondance, les listes d'actions, les rapports et assurer le suivi des engagements et echeances.
    • Examiner la correspondance de projet et les communications electroniques entrantes et prendre les mesures appropriees.
    • Maintenir et mettre a jour les registres d'inventaire d'eau lourde.
    • Soutenir les activites de saisie et d'analyse de donnees dans le systeme de gestion de l'eau lourde.
  • Soutenir le chef de section de La Prade et les activites operationnelles
    • Examiner la correspondance et les communications electroniques recues et coordonner les suivis necessaires.
    • Agir comme personne-ressource entre le chef de section/gestionnaire de La Prade et le personnel de la division.
    • Appuyer la coordination et l'etablissement des priorites des activites operationnelles et de terrain.
    • Soutenir les activites liees a la gestion des inventaires, a l'echantillonnage, a la vente et au transport de l'eau lourde et du radium-226.
  • Assurer la conformite aux exigences de gestion documentaire des LNC
    • Veiller a ce que la documentation respecte les normes corporatives des LNC, notamment en matiere de formatage, d'entreposage et de numerotation.
    • Reviser, mettre a jour et maintenir les documents officiels, presentations, feuilles de calcul et dossiers.
    • Maintenir et mettre a jour les bases de donnees d'inventaire appuyant l'entreposage et la gestion des matieres d'eau lourde et de radium-226.
  • Soutenir les processus des ressources humaines, des finances, de la securite et de la radioprotection
    • Traiter des renseignements sensibles et confidentiels lies aux ressources humaines, aux finances, a la securite, a la dosimetrie et a la radioprotection.
    • Soutenir les processus de classification et de soumission des factures pour les depenses avec ou sans bon de commande.
    • Preparer les demandes d'approvisionnement, les soumissions, les bons de commande et les contrats de services pour l'achat de materiel, d'equipement, d'outillage, d'EPI et de services.
    • Soutenir l'administration de la dosimetrie, notamment la coordination des envois, des receptions, du suivi et de la documentation des dosimetres TLD.
    • Coordonner les demandes d'acces des visiteurs et assurer le respect des exigences d'acces au site et du programme SEPS.
  • Soutenir les activites d'expedition, de reception et de transport
    • Preparer la documentation d'expedition et les rapports de reception conformement aux normes des LNC et aux exigences reglementaires.
    • Emballer, securiser et preparer le materiel, l'equipement et les instruments pour l'expedition.
    • Verifier les materiaux, equipements et instruments recus et coordonner les suivis necessaires.
    • Maintenir les formations requises et soutenir les activites d'expedition liees au Transport des marchandises dangereuses (TMD).
  • Soutenir la coordination des entrepreneurs et les activites d'approvisionnement
    • Preparer et maintenir la documentation requise pour soutenir les activites des entrepreneurs et l'elaboration de contrats.
    • Coordonner avec les entrepreneurs externes en ce qui concerne les horaires, l'acces au site et l'execution des travaux.
    • Soutenir les activites d'approvisionnement des LNC a titre de personne-ressource secondaire pour les questions liees aux entrepreneurs.
    • Appuyer l'engagement des entrepreneurs et les activites sur le site afin d'assurer l'execution efficace et en temps opportun des projets.
  • Effectuer toute autre tache confiee par votre gestionnaire.
