"B" Reclaim Operator - North End

As part of the North End OB&P Operations the "B" Reclaim Operator will report directly to the On-Shift Supervisor. 

The "B" Reclaim Operator is a self-motivated individual that will work effectively as a team with the "A" Reclaim Operator. This operator understands risk level and has no problem confronting others when work is done unsafely or inefficiently.  The "B" Reclaim Operator is tasked with assisting in the safe and efficient operation of the reclaim areas including, but not limited to, ore stockpile management, ore grade management, conveyor belt management, and heavy equipment management. The "B" Reclaim Operator will follow a day/night rotating schedule.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Safely and proficiently perform the tasks required to the position assigned.
  • Safely operate backhoe, skid steer, forklift, D-9, and D-10 dozers, 972 and 980 loaders.
  • Identifies possible or current operating problems and recommends action to resolve any deficiencies in rate, quality, or mechanical operation.
  • Responding to and appropriately addressing process upsets.
  • Report on safety, environment, quality, and production Issues using the Incident reporting             system.
  • Engaging in minor equipment maintenance.
  • Identify possible or current operating problems and recommend action to resolve problems concerning rate, quality, or mechanical operation.
  • Identify actual or potential maintenance problems and take appropriate action to see that they are addressed
  • Use SAP to generate and track work orders
  • Responsible for ensuring housekeeping is done to standard.
  • Locking out equipment in accordance with policy and procedure for operations and maintenance activities.
  • Inspecting maintenance that is completed in the wash plant area.
  • Ensure accurate shift logs and loss-limits are entered into J-5.
  • Train and work towards qualification on other jobs at the North End & Ponds.
  • Must be able to make sound judgment calls.
  • Able to navigate J-5 and fill out daily logs.
  • Participate in and lead daily safety meetings.
  • Required to do daily lube routes and use IVARA to report routes.
  • Required to do daily cleanup assignments and fill out reporting spreadsheet.
  • Required to clean spillage from under conveyors and screens.
  • Required to write work requests, MOC's, Safe Plans of Action, fill out Safe Work Permits, and PSSR's.
  • Required to cross-train and certify on other North End positions.
  • Must be a very safety-minded individual.

Qualifications for the position include:

  • Ability to read, understand, apply, and as needed write and update operating procedures.
  • Able to use computers for job functions and training.
  • Ability to excel in a team environment.
  • Experience in equipment operations.
  • Troubleshooting and analytical ability.
  • Must be physically able to perform the tasks of the B-Wash Plant Operator, per the appropriate Job Physical Demands Analysis
