Summary of Position  

The Sr. Receptionist ensures the reception area operates efficiently, all reception duties are handled effectively, and all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with MacroGenics procedures. This position works closely with other support positions at MacroGenics.

Responsibilities and Job Duties 

  • Professionally answer, screen, and direct incoming calls to appropriate personnel or departments.
  • Maintain and monitor automated attendant systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Ensure the reception and lobby areas are clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Greet and assist visitors courteously; determine the purpose of visits and ensure compliance with established security and access procedures.
  • Manage visitor check-in processes, including entry into the Visitor System and issuing appropriate badges.
  • Coordinate and distribute taxi vouchers for guests as needed.
  • Process incoming deliveries and shipments, promptly notifying recipients through the Visitor System.
  • Oversee the employee loaner badge program, ensuring proper issuance, return, and secure storage.
  • Develop and distribute monthly reception/lunch coverage schedules and coordinate staffing coverage with external agencies.
  • Communicate company notifications as assigned by management.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail operations, including coordination of postage meter usage with Finance.
  • Administer FedEx account activities and order, maintain, and ensure adequate inventory of shipping, kitchen, and office supplies.
  • Support procurement activities and submit/track service requests using internal systems (e.g., SNOW).
  • Assist with tracking office-related costs and metrics (e.g., supplies, utilities, recycling) as directed.
  • Coordinate flower or care package deliveries for employees on leave in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Provide administrative support to staff and management as needed.
  • Assist with conference room scheduling, transportation requests, and general office coordination.
  • Support emergency preparedness efforts, including evacuation coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and workplace guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.

Qualifications

Education & Credentials 

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience 

  • Sr. Receptionist: Minimum of 8 years of experience in a receptionist or administrative role 
  • Receptionist: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a receptionist or administrative role

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational/communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to logically organize, manage and retrieve working computer files
  • Must be professional and courteous in-person and on the phone
  • Strong customer service orientation

Additional Information   

The annual rate of pay for this position ranges from $51,000 – $85,000 for Sr. Receptionist and $44,250 – $73,750 for Receptionist. For non-exempt roles, and according to applicable regulations, there may be the possibility for overtime pay. This role is eligible for the Company’s discretionary bonus and discretionary equity incentives. Eligible employees may participate in the Company’s benefits programs, including medical / dental / vision / prescription coverage, employee wellness resources, 401(k) plan with employer match, access to an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, (ESPP), paid time off & paid parental leave benefits, and disability benefits.   

The annual pay rate range is described in good faith, and the Company believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law. The Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and this range may be modified in the future. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable under the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
