Receiving Cross-Dock Supervisor

Epic HR LLC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Receiving Cross-Dock Supervisor in Brighton, CA!

A Receiving Cross-Dock Supervisor in a cold storage distribution facility is responsible for overseeing inbound receiving and cross-dock operations. This position ensures incoming products are received accurately, inspected, documented, and moved efficiently through the facility while maintaining food safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Salary: $57,784 - $60k

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily receiving and cross-dock operations, ensuring inbound shipments are processed accurately and on schedule.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and support receiving associates, forklift operators, and other warehouse team members.
  • Coordinate the unloading of inbound trailers and ensure products are moved efficiently to the correct staging, storage, or outbound areas.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, bills of lading, manifests, and other receiving documentation.
  • Monitor receiving accuracy, product counts, lot numbers, dates, and inventory information to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure products are properly handled and maintained within required temperature-controlled conditions.
  • Inspect incoming products for damage, shortages, quality concerns, or other receiving issues and communicate discrepancies to the appropriate departments.
  • Coordinate with drivers, transportation teams, receiving clerks, inventory teams, and warehouse leadership to maintain an efficient flow of product.
  • Monitor dock activity and prioritize inbound loads based on schedules, product requirements, and operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, food safety standards, sanitation requirements, and cold-storage policies.
  • Monitor employee productivity, receiving accuracy, trailer turnaround times, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Address operational issues quickly to minimize receiving delays and prevent disruptions to warehouse operations.
  • Maintain accurate receiving, inventory, shipment, and operational documentation.
  • Assist with inventory control and ensure received products are properly accounted for within the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Identify opportunities to improve receiving and cross-dock processes, productivity, accuracy, and overall workflow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving and dock area.
  • Communicate shift priorities, operational updates, staffing needs, and performance expectations to the receiving team.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in receiving, cross-dock, warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations, preferably within a food or cold-storage environment.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution setting.
  • Knowledge of inbound receiving procedures, inventory control, cross-docking, and warehouse operations.
  • Understanding of temperature-controlled logistics, food safety requirements, and proper product handling practices.
  • Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, inventory systems, or similar warehouse technology preferred.
  • Ability to lead and organize a team in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve receiving discrepancies and operational issues.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple inbound shipments and meet productivity and scheduling expectations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated and/or freezer environments as required.
  • Must be flexible to work assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.
