Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support our Quality team with First Article Inspections (FAIs) and dimensional verification activities. This role is ideal for someone with manufacturing inspection experience who is comfortable reviewing engineering drawings, validating product conformity, and documenting inspection results in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

The inspector will work closely with Quality Inspectors, Production, and Manufacturing teams to ensure customer and internal quality requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with customer and internal requirements.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Complete FAIR documentation packages including ballooned prints and measurement reports.
  • Verify material certifications, hardware, finishes, and special process documentation.
  • Identify and document nonconformances and communicate issues to Quality Control and Production teams.
  • Support in-process and final inspection activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability requirements are met.
  • Assist with containment and sorting activities when required.

Qualifications

  • Previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience with First Article Inspections is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication and/or machining processes preferred.
  • Experience using standard inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and quality documentation systems; High QA experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience completing AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to handle and inspect manufactured components safely.
