Vitesse Systems is looking for a CMM Programmer / Quality Control Inspector III to join the team in Longmont, Colorado! The CMM Programmer / Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspection of parts daily, while also writing and verifying CMM programs for production. This role involves both hands-on inspection and programming responsibilities to ensure high-quality products.

The Role

The primary responsibilities of the CMM Programmer / Quality Control Inspector is to develop, maintain, and generate GMM programs use to inspect and verify production materials and components. They review blueprints and specifications to establish correct inspection criteria per internal and external requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, write, and execute manual, CMM, and Vision System inspections.
  • Be actively involved in troubleshooting discrepancies and validating discrepancies as needed
  • Support internal customer requests for support related to inspection, measurement strategy, calibration, and other related requests.
  • Perform duties of Calibration Coordinator as necessary.
  • Follow all released processes related to inspection planning, inspection, and internal customer support
  • Responsible for execution and improvement of QA department inspection and documentation processes in support of internal and external customers
  • Be an effective communicator and leader within the QA department and throughout the company
  • Mentor and coach fellow professionals at Vitesse - Longmont; lead mentorship and professional development within the QA department
  • Prove out data for nonconforming items.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 of experience in manufacturing inspection
  • Demonstrated proficiency in planning and executing advance, multi-method inspection strategies
  • Preferred experience with IS9000
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a quality-focused manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 1 year experience within GD&T
  • Ability to plan inspections using multiple CMM programming languages, as well as multiple alternate inspection methods (manual, vision, etc.)
  • Minimum 1 year experience programming CMMโ€™s
  • Ability to follow and give clear oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team and independently as needed to support the group effort, as both a leader and follower
  • Ability to develop new calibration procedures as required.
  • Effective communication skills required, including reading, writing, and computer skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to act as a direct supervisor, coach, and leader within the QA organization
  • Must provide proof of US Citizenship or Permanent Residency to comply with ITAR regulations
  • Ability to pass a drug screen per Vitesseโ€™s drug testing policy
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check per Vitesseโ€™s policy
