The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, verifying, and documenting all incoming shipments for the property. This role ensures accuracy in deliveries, maintains organized storage areas, supports inventory control, and upholds company standards for safety, cleanliness, and compliance.
Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming shipments against purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips.
  • Document discrepancies, shortages, damages, or overages and report them to the appropriate department or supervisor.
  • Ensure all products are accurately labeled, dated, and stored according to company standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving dock, storage rooms, and inventory areas.
  • Operate pallet jacks, carts, and other equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assist with inventory rotation using FIFO and ensure perishable items are handled promptly.
  • Communicate with vendors, drivers, and internal departments to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.
  • Distribute received goods to appropriate departments in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor and track inventory levels and notify supervisors of low stock or supply needs.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines including Health Department and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, and documentation for all received items.
  • Support periodic inventory counts and audits as required.
  • Ensure secure handling of high-value or sensitive items.
  • Uphold company policies, procedures, and service standards.
