What is real estate title insurance?

Real estate title insurance is a type of insurance policy that protects homebuyers and lenders from financial loss due to defects or issues with a property's title. These issues can include unknown liens, conflicting wills, errors in public records, or fraud that could affect ownership rights. Title insurance provides peace of mind by covering legal costs or losses if a title problem arises after a property purchase. Unlike other types of insurance, title insurance typically involves a one-time premium paid at closing, rather than ongoing payments.

Robertson, Anschutz, Schneid, Crane & Partners, PLLC (RAS) is a multi-state law firm recognized for its excellence in creditorsโ€™ rights, real estate, and financial services law. With a long-standing reputation for integrity, innovation, and results, we represent national and regional financial institutions in a wide range of real estate and litigation matters.

At RAS, we foster a collaborative, professional, and growth-oriented culture where talented individuals can thrive. We believe in investing in our team through training, mentorship, and career development โ€” empowering our employees to grow with us as we continue to expand and diversify our practice.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal to join our Title and Closing Team. In this role, you will be responsible for resolving title exceptions and ensuring that all transactions result in insurable or marketable title. This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected firm that values excellence, precision, and teamwork โ€” and to play an essential part in helping our clients achieve successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review title reports and identify, track, and clear title exceptions in pre- and post-foreclosure matters

  • Communicate with firm attorneys, clients, title companies, and purchaserโ€™s counsel to facilitate successful closings

  • Prepare and review closing documentation, including closing statements, reports of sale, and deeds

  • Coordinate on-site and remote closings in accordance with client and investor requirements

  • Draft and send correspondence such as Time of the Essence letters and congratulatory notices to purchasers

  • Request and follow up on purchaser title reports and other supporting documentation

  • Maintain compliance with firm, client, and investor timelines and guidelines

  • Support other title specialists and team members when needed to ensure workflow efficiency

  • Maintain accurate internal records and update systems with status reports, notes, and document tracking

What You Bring
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in title, real estate, or foreclosure processing

  • Strong working knowledge of title reports, real estate closing procedures, and post-foreclosure transactions

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with closing/title software

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, team-oriented approach

  • Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and exceptional client service

What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary: $55,000 โ€“ $70,000 (commensurate with experience)

  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • 401(k)

  • Professional Development Opportunities and training programs

  • A collaborative, supportive, and growth-oriented environment
