Job description

Business Development Executive - Supply Chain, Construction, Real-Estate
  • Midwest Region, Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus

Hartman Executive Advisors was founded with the vision of providing business-focused, vendor-independent consulting to mid-sized companies. As independent, trusted strategic advisors to our clients, Hartman’s mission is to create meaningful business outcomes that foster growth, greater financial returns and market dominance. By developing a deep understanding of the business challenges arising from poorly aligned technology and uncovering the transformational opportunities that result from strategically aligned technology, we set the path to advance, cultivate and leverage people, processes and systems to change and transform organizations. At Hartman, we deliver powerful business outcomes by leveraging technology strategy as a game-changer for our clients.

Summary: Hartman Executive Advisors is seeking an experienced, relationship-driven business development professional to help expand our Supply Chain, Construction and Real Estate practice, with a primary focus on mid-market manufacturing, distribution, warehousing/logistics, construction and real estate companies. This role plays a key part in helping executives navigate the strategic, operational, and technology challenges that often limit organizational performance or growth.

The Business Development Executive will work alongside a small, highly collaborative group of senior sales and practice leaders who are deeply engaged in shaping the firm’s growth and expanding our impact across the supply chain, construction and real estate industries. Success requires comfort engaging the C-suite, uncovering pain points, and clearly articulating how Hartman’s independent advisory model provides strategic IT leadership that clients often struggle to find, afford, or retain internally.

This is a strategic relationship development role for someone who enjoys working at the executive level and influencing long-term decisions rather than transactional sales cycles.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a personalized plan of action in partnership with senior growth leadership, focusing on building high-value relationships and driving new client acquisition.
  • Build, expand, and nurture a strategic network of Centers of Influence (COIs), creating a sustained pipeline of warm introductions and expanding Hartman’s influence across the industry.
  • Lead strategic discovery conversations that help executives understand gaps in their IT leadership, governance, cybersecurity posture, or technology strategy.
  • Represent Hartman at conferences, events and industry associations and forums, strengthening visibility and creating new pathways into priority markets.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to shape advisory solutions that address prospective client challenges.
  • Maintain a consistent rhythm of outreach, COI engagement, industry involvement, prospect conversations, follow-up, and CRM documentation.
  • Clearly communicate Hartman’s value proposition through thoughtful, executive-level conversations that build trust and create clarity.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience developing executive-level relationships in B2B environments, preferably within construction, commercial real-estate, manufacturing firms.
  • A track record of earning trust with supply chain and/or CRE executives and influencing long-term strategic thinking.
  • Strength in leading insight-driven conversations that help executives understand and navigate strategic or technology-related challenges.
  • Clear, concise communication skills suitable for boardroom-level discussions.
  • Genuine intellectual curiosity and the ability to identify themes, risks, and opportunities across organizations and industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Job Type: Full Time

  • Dental
