The Opportunity

We are seeking a Real Estate Development Officer in the Richmond, VA area to help bring affordable multifamily housing projects from concept to completion. This role is ideal for a mission-driven development professional who enjoys managing complex projects, collaborating with diverse partners, and making a tangible difference in the community.

What You'll Do

  • Manage affordable multifamily development projects from due diligence through closeout
  • Coordinate financing, tax credits, grants, and loan applications
  • Work closely with architects, contractors, consultants, and lenders
  • Oversee construction administration, budgets, bids, and change orders
  • Support real estate transactions, closings, and post-occupancy reviews
  • Ensure organized documentation and smooth handoff of completed projects

What We're Looking For

  • Master's degree with 2+ years of multifamily real estate development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong understanding of real estate development and finance
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Valid Virginia driver's license and ability to travel state-wide
  • Notary Public in Virginia preferred
